Emptiness is introduced as being like the sky. Thus, once you realize that all appearances are without inherent existence, meditation becomes stable. Introducing that as the Sambhogakaya: No matter how self-appearances arise, know that they are without substance and are empty from the beginning. Although it is emptiness, it is available for enjoyment without interruption, so it is the Sambhogakaya of skillful display. When that skill is perfected, one ultimately attains complete enlightenment in the Sambhogakaya, which is free from outflows. Third, introducing the union of appearance and emptiness also has two parts: training skill with conduct, and introducing it as the Dharmakaya. The first is: If the mind, appearance, and emptiness are not liberated into non-duality, even if you know emptiness and meditate, you will be attached to emptiness. Just as the Shravakas block appearances and meditate on emptiness, they become one-sidedly fixated, and emptiness itself becomes substantial, so they are not liberated into the non-dual Dharmakaya. Therefore, do not be fixated on emptiness itself, thinking, "This is emptiness," but train skill in the state of the union of appearance and emptiness. Just as there are light and darkness of day and night on the earth, but the sunlight and darkness in the sky are inseparable, the mind's fixation on emptiness is easily destroyed, so appearance and emptiness are realized to be inseparable even for a moment. Dbyings rig gnyis med lhan cig skyes par grol. Like snow falling on the ocean, the arising and dissolution of thoughts are simultaneous. Just as the moon in the water cannot be divided into appearance and emptiness, appearance and emptiness are merely labeled separately, but in reality, they are non-dual, and one is recognized as the great self-arising and self-liberating state. That is not a new liberation that is created by modification, but from the moment of appearance, it is naturally empty, so appearance is self-liberated. From the moment of emptiness, it is naturally apparent, so emptiness is self-liberated. All is recognized as the great, uncreated, self-arising, self-liberating wisdom Dharmakaya. And, in the state of experience and realization that was previously stabilized by meditation, conduct arises spontaneously, and there is no separate conduct, so it is called self-liberation. If you do not liberate into the state of the single nature of appearance and emptiness, you will not attain Buddhahood no matter what Dharma you practice, and you will go astray on the wrong path. The difference between the Shravakas and the Mahayana is also said to be whether or not appearance and mind are mixed. The scriptures say so. Even if you meditate in this way, because the habitual tendencies of past attachments are strong, sometimes appearances will

If a thought arises, leave it in a state of non-doing, and it will naturally dissolve like a snake's knot. If it doesn't dissolve and there is a thought clinging to appearances, it is called 'reversing suppression,' which is like extracting from a filthy place. Just as aversion arises towards something good, or desire arises towards hatred, when such objects appear, think in reverse, because the nature of mind is only one, so the previous appearance will become without basis. If there are two minds, there must be two thoughts together. If you think of happiness, there will be no unhappiness; if you think of unhappiness, the thought of happiness will disappear. Similarly, do not cling to the artificial meditation of dualistic grasping that sees appearances and emptiness as separate. Once you are certain that appearances and emptiness are of the same nature as your own mind, and they arise and dissolve on their own, then emptiness will be completely and naturally liberated. Thus it is said. Second, introducing the Dharmakaya: Emptiness without clinging to appearances, awareness and clarity without clinging to emptiness, knowing that the realm and awareness are non-dual is the supreme path. Once the clinging to knowable things is purified, ultimately, the equality of suchness will become Buddha without change, and the wisdom of knowing will arise without effort or thought. Fourth, introducing that very state as the spontaneously accomplished, completely perfect Buddhahood: Although appearances and emptiness are non-dual and have naturally dissolved, if you do not lead the result to a state of uncreated, naturally arising, spontaneously accomplished, then the five wisdoms and so on are just experiences. Therefore, practice on the basis of what was previously realized, which has become habit and confidence, because there is no other object to be practiced and no practitioner, so when the practice reaches its ultimate point, it will transcend the dualistic mind of grasping and grasper, and will not be attached to anything. The subtle clinging to latent obscurations of knowable things will also naturally be exhausted, and in the state of non-clinging, uncreated, spontaneously accomplished, the realm and awareness are non-dual, the mother and child of suchness merge into one, the clinging to emptiness while abiding in equanimity will not be established, the moving thoughts of subsequent wisdom will not arise, there will be no clinging to the characteristics of existence, the nature of non-existence will not be clear, it is neither existence nor non-existence, transcending the discrimination of existence and non-existence, not falling to any side, not interrupted anywhere, without clarity, decline, change, or alteration, no matter what you do, you cannot make it not be itself, you cannot make it not be itself, there is no meditation, and there is no separation, like going to the precious golden continent, everything is in that state of self-nature, clear and without clinging.
