In the vast expanse, the naked essence of awareness utterly dissolves, which is the spontaneous accomplishment of the fruit, without any fabrication. Like the dissipating summer mist, the unrisen winter wind, all mundane appearances, the apprehended and the apprehender, the obscurations of afflictions all dissipate, without the fear of samsara. The ultimate nature of reality, the object of meditation and the meditator, the obscurations of knowledge, dissolve in self-liberation, without hoping for Buddhahood. In the appearance of duality and non-duality, in the self-luminous non-conceptuality where there is no clinging whatsoever, in the single decisive resolution, all things are universally known, the qualities of inherent nature increase, which is the self-born, spontaneously accomplished wisdom, called the all-knowing Buddha. Now is the time when the Dharmakaya manifests. Guarding this meaning is the time to presently, manifestly, perfectly attain Buddhahood. In this state, the compassionate wisdom that pervades all, constantly exists without effort or conceptualization. To those who can be tamed and are pure, the Sambhogakaya appears; to those who are impure, the Nirmanakaya appears. Without fixedness, the play of taming according to what needs to be tamed arises naturally. If all these are summarized, the scriptures say: Appearances, self-arisen, are shown as mind; the nature of mind, self-liberated, is the Dharmakaya; the Dharmakaya, unmade, is spontaneously accomplished; spontaneous accomplishment is the perfect Buddha. This is what is being said. The second part of the root text, the effortless attainment of Buddhahood for those of medium or higher capacity, the essential meaning instruction of the great secret has four parts. The view does not fall into the realm of understanding, but is entrusted to one's own ground through the key point of direct awareness. The practice does not fall into the realm of mental fixation, but the key point of direct experience cuts through to a single decision. The conduct does not fall into the realm of acceptance and rejection, but the key point of experience reaching its limit trains in spontaneous liberation. The fruit does not fall into the realm of hope and fear, but the key point of being delivered to the place of exhaustion guides to the spontaneous accomplishment of the three bodies. First, the posture of the body, on a comfortable cushion, sit in the vajra posture with legs crossed, the spine straight, the hands in the mudra of equipoise, in order to realize the original state, the body should not be crooked, but remain upright. In terms of speech, exhale the stale air, do not inhale, and do not speak. Let the breath be natural and slow. In order to realize the meaning beyond words, do not speak. The key point of mind, in the manner of the Dharmakaya's gaze, look at the space in front of the eyes. In order to directly awaken to the nature of reality.

Do not let the mind wander, but look! There is no object to look at, but rather look at oneself. When looking, realize that the looking that does not need to be looked at, unarisen and unceasing, is the very nature of space; because all external arising comes from space, therefore seeing the five elements purified in their own nature, the primordial pure space, recognize it as the external mind; all internal afflictions, the five poisons, arise from one's own mind, therefore the five poisons are purified in the mind in their own nature, self-luminous, without grasping, recognize it as one's own mind; all the arising gates of appearances come from the colors within the roots of the five senses, therefore recognize all appearances purified within emptiness, the self-nature of purity, as the intermediate mind; although thus established with three names, in reality, external and internal are inseparable, merging indivisibly into one, clear and transparent, apart from this bright emptiness, there is no other obstruction, therefore it is named Rigpa Dorje Lug Gu Gyü (Awareness Vajra Chain). Because of directly seeing the nature of reality, thereby gaining certainty about this, and being able to control one's own awareness, therefore attaining the Sambhogakaya. Sentient beings do not recognize external appearances as mind, but grasp them as external objects; in between, they grasp the body as self, and separately view the consciousnesses of the five senses; internally, they consider the mind that grasps at "I" and "mine" as their own continuum, thus not recognizing these as one, but being confused separately, thereby wandering in samsara. Here, recognizing these as one, the appearances of the external five elements are like waves from water, the internal five poisons are like rays from the sun, the appearances of the intermediate five senses are like a monkey in an empty house, all of these arise from the mind and become one in the mind, thereby introducing them. If these are not mind, then when placing awareness without support in space, the five elements and so on should also appear, but because it is the key point of mind, they are self-purified and do not appear. External, internal, and intermediate are only names, in reality there is no difference, recognize them as one. There is no dharma that is not mind, recognize all as one self-nature of mind, and thus clearly and directly seeing the nature of awareness, thereby completely transcending the scope of thought and language, gaining certainty, this is called Rigpa Dorje Lug Gu Gyü (Awareness Vajra Chain). Without straying from this meaning, looking at the meaning that does not need to be looked at, this is called the view free from extremes. Second, practice, without falling into mind-clinging, with the key point of direct experience, cutting through in one stroke.
