The effortless liberation of the individual. Here, again, through the door of the most secret Chikchö, for one individual with superior faculties, Through symbolic instructions, this empowerment instruction that leads to effortless liberation, Has three parts: preparation, main part, and conclusion. The preliminary is known elsewhere. The symbolic instructions of the main empowerment have four: The symbolic empowerment of appearance with elaboration, The symbolic empowerment of emptiness without elaboration, The symbolic empowerment of non-duality and self-liberation, And the symbolic empowerment of Chikchö and spontaneous accomplishment. First, the symbolic empowerment of appearance with elaboration: From the tantra: "All appearances arise from the mind, In order to realize appearances as mind, to the Lama, Request the empowerment of appearance with elaboration." Therefore, pray at sunrise, it is said. The disciple says to the Lama: "In order to dispel all the darkness of ignorance, And for the arising of the light of awareness and wisdom, At sunrise, I make the request for empowerment." Fill with various substances such as the five meats and five essences, and place a mandala decorated with various growing things such as tree leaves, grains, and flowers. In order for the common self to generate perfect enjoyment, and especially in order to eliminate obscurations with objects, arrange offerings surrounded by tsok, torma, and implements. Then, the lama prays to the deity, dakini, and dharma protector, and makes them happy by offering tsok and torma. The disciple puts on new clothes, wears ornaments, prostrates, stands up, joins palms, and prays as follows: Emaho! All-good lama, supreme incarnate body! From this day forward, I pray with respect. In the mandala of appearance, great bliss, and freedom from elaboration, please grant the empowerment to realize awareness directly. Pray in this way three times. Then, the lama asks: Faithful son of a definite lineage! Are you willing to enter the Great Perfection Dharma? Can you keep the samaya of the non-dual appearance of samsara and nirvana? Thus he asks, and the disciple answers yes. Then, the lama makes him swear to suchness: Child, you have abandoned samsara, do not be distracted by the meaning of uncreated appearance, swear to look at self-born awareness! If you violate it, you will be destroyed. Thus he gives the water of vajra nectar, and swears not to transgress the samaya. The disciple swears to suchness. Then, the lama asks the disciple: Child, who are you? The disciple answers: I am a son of a fortunate lineage. If you have not seen this symbolic mandala of phenomena, look! He asks: Where are these clothes and ornaments of yours decorating? If he says they are decorating the body, he says: Likewise, these external phenomena are also decorations of the mind. He asks: On what did these clothes and ornaments of yours first depend to arise? If he says they depend on the body to arise, he says: Likewise, these phenomena also depend on the mind to arise. Just as various clothes and ornaments decorate the body, various phenomena are also one mind. Likewise, the mandala is also, the appearance of eight lotus petals arising from one center is a sign of the arising of the eight consciousness aggregates from the nature of one mind. Various colors, phenomena unceasing, whatever appears is a symbol. Surrounded by five-colored rainbows, everything is the center of the mind.
