Through relaxation, all arising thoughts naturally dissolve without a trace, like waves arising from and dissolving back into the ocean. While experiencing the practice and oral instructions of relaxation, do not be distracted from the essence of your own clear and empty awareness, which is the nature beyond all expression. As a result, contemplate all appearances of the six aggregates as being uninterrupted outwardly and without attachment. First, the body is relaxed like a mountain: place your body in the seven-point posture of Vairochana, relax comfortably like a loosened rope, without changing, and abide like a mountain. To eliminate dullness, tighten each part of the body, abiding in an alternating manner of tightening and loosening. Second, the eyes are relaxed like the ocean: first gradually reduce the chattering of ordinary speech. Finally, like the breaking of a lute string, completely cut off all verbal expression. "Ocean" refers to the eyes, with the eyeballs unmoving like an elephant intoxicated with liquor, without even blinking the eyelids, fixing the gaze on the expanse of space, which is the key. Third, awareness is relaxed: your own mind is primordially pure by nature, beyond all elaboration, its essence being the empty Dharmakaya (Tibetan: ཆོས་སྐུ།). Emptiness is not nothingness, not like space, but the Sambhogakaya (Tibetan: ལོངས་སྐུ།) appearing with unobstructed luminosity. These two, like a candle and its light, inseparably manifest as various powers, which is the Nirmanakaya (Tibetan: སྤྲུལ་སྐུ།). At the very moment of manifestation, the essence does not depart from emptiness, which is the view of Kadag Trekchö (Tibetan: ཀ་དག་ཁྲེགས་ཆོད་), primordial purity and cutting through resistance. This is not merely metaphor, the words of others, or understanding, but must be realized through the blessing and oral instructions of the guru. "Kadag" (Tibetan: ཀ་དག་) means pure from the beginning, or completely pure from the very beginning. Thus, this state is neither created by the learned Buddha nor contaminated by clever sentient beings. Upward, it has not become better at the time of Nirvana; downward, it has not become worse at the time of wandering in Samsara. Practice by merging the object and subject, knower and known, into one taste. "Practice" means that the realization must be determined without doubt. In the Root Tantra of the Sound Transmission, it says: "Prajnaparamita lies in directly cutting through appearances."
