Although many methods of learning various skillful means have been taught, all of these are included in the completion of karma. Merely causing the mind to abide where it does not abide is of no benefit whatsoever, not even a particle, for attaining Buddhahood. Therefore, if there is no copper-lettered king of pith instructions, all others are empty talk. If it is connected with this, the benefit of both oneself and others will be accomplished. This pith instruction is connected with signs and measures, like jade inlaid on precious gold. Therefore, for the letters of signs, if there are no letters of measure, it is empty talk. Therefore, the pith instruction with copper letters, if connected with the three letters, the great meaning of yoga will be accomplished. Without these three, even if practiced, it will be meaningless and delayed. The seed of emanation, the only son, without this, even if practiced, the fruit will not ripen. By holding this, the qualities of the emanation body will be perfected. Therefore, this self-arisen of all teachings is like rain falling from the sky, nourishing the grass and trees. Just by holding this, the fruit will be obtained in due time. Therefore, place this in the center of your heart. The essence of pith instructions, the innermost secret, the essence of the heart, the mother letter is the secret dharma of the heart. If you have this, you will seize the eternal dominion of wisdom. Together with the aggregates, place it in your heart. Its substance cannot be expressed in words. Its secret is the mother and son letters. Expand it in a most cherished treasury, and do not spread this to others. The essence of all secret mantras, the key point of wisdom, gather it here and take the essence into your heart. Like precious gold, if you always hold it, it will be valuable. This secret letter is also the same. Therefore, remember its pith instructions. Without the letters of signs, there is no destination for the fruits. Therefore, with this letter of measure and certainty, you must clearly indicate the time. This method of the supreme essence must be kept extremely secret. Record it definitively in the measure and then make it manifest. Concentrate the secret within the secret into the essence of the essence. Collect the essences and make the essence the path. Therefore, these letters are extremely rare and must be grasped for the sake of the sacred meaning. Extremely condensed, to whom does this measure of the most cherished heart essence belong?
