In the heart of Akshobhya, meditate on a single, clear syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽). Within the sound (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད་, Sanskrit Devanagari: नाद, Sanskrit Romanization: nāda, Chinese literal meaning: sound) of the syllable Hūṃ, place your focus in a state of non-discrimination. During the day, meditate in the vastness of the sky; at night, meditate in the center of your heart. From after midnight until dawn, this is the tenet of the Sarvāstivāda school, which considers it the pure land of Akshobhya. Pray to the guru Akshobhya and the mandala assembly until dusk. From dusk until the time before dawn, do not sleep, and keep your body alert. From midnight onwards, clearly place your focus in your own heart, with your head facing east. Place your right cheek downwards, with the left being the path to liberation, and the heart being the main focus. Because it is the place where Akshobhya comes, meditation at that time is the pith instruction. This is the tenet of the Sarvāstivāda school, accomplished by the four common elders. At that time, if your own practice is not free from doubt and elaboration, then consult the oral instruction master. The aspiration is accomplished by the four elders, with three hundred and twenty households and four thousand households considered to be gathered at the master's place, practicing the path to liberation, and when the phenomena of all dharmas are free from elaboration and the signs of appearance have ceased, if the aspiration for dharma ceases in the dharma assembly of the four elders, then the source of the unborn luminosity, by which enlightenment is attained in this very life, is known by the Sarvāstivāda school. If you wish to realize it, meditate in that way. During the day, in the vastness of the sky, the blue syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) has its own color, focus very clearly on it, and from it, five colors of light radiate, shining into the world realm, and all that is stable and moving dissolves into light, and gathering again, it dissolves into the syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽), meditate on the syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) itself being very clear. By placing the mind in non-discrimination, if you can abide, then maintain it. If you cannot abide, then the nature of U (Tibetan: ཨུ, Sanskrit Devanagari: उ, Sanskrit Romanization: u, Chinese literal meaning: U) is accomplished, and contemplate it dissolving into the syllable Ha (Tibetan: ཧ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह, Sanskrit Romanization: ha, Chinese literal meaning: Ha). The infinite light Ha (Tibetan: ཧ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह, Sanskrit Romanization: ha, Chinese literal meaning: Ha) itself dissolves into the moon jewel-born, dissolving into the moon bindu, dissolving into Akshobhya. That very subtle center, the sound (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད་, Sanskrit Devanagari: नाद, Sanskrit Romanization: nāda, Chinese literal meaning: sound) is the all-illuminating, all outer and inner vessels and contents, focus on the bindu and meditate on non-discrimination. During the daytime, at all times, without being distracted by various signs, if you can abide in emptiness, then non-discriminating wisdom will arise. This is the completion stage with elaboration.

Extremely non-elaborate yogi, The appearance of various phenomena is, Like reflections in a mirror, Like the moon in water. They appear but are ultimately unreal, Not stained by clinging, Not bound by the six aggregates of objects, Self-appearing, ungrasped, self-liberated. This is the path of daytime meditation, Called the luminosity of the path. The luminosity of nighttime sleep is, Focusing intently on the above-mentioned posture, Making utmost effort, The supreme king of deities, Akshobhya, The supreme king of mantras is Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ). At the very time of falling asleep, Light radiates from the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) at the heart, Purifying all the sins and obscurations Of one's body, speech, and mind, Imagine them exiting from the two lower orifices. Recite the king of mantras, Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ), one hundred and eight times. Then, as you go to sleep, Focus on the bindu and nāda of Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ), And meditate without conceptualization. Keep a friend nearby, Not letting you sleep for too long, Cutting short the sleep sessions is the key instruction. At the moment when the friend awakens you, Ask yourself whether you have grasped the luminosity or not. If you have grasped it, the nature of sleep, Will arise as bliss and emptiness, And at the moment of waking, your own mind, Will arise as being free from elaboration. If you still cannot grasp it, Make offerings to the lama and the Three Jewels, And have a friend with confidence in realization, Accumulate vast amounts of merit. Make tsok offerings to the Ḍākinīs, And offer one torma to the yidam deity, Adorned with human flesh and amrita. Hide a white thread in a secret place, And keep it as collateral during the retreat. Within the Avadhūti, Make the expanse of space clear. Below the Brahma's aperture, A blue bindu the size of a pea, Focus on that and go to sleep. You will realize luminosity, And even if you dream a hundred dreams, Good omens will arise, And your mind will be happy and content, And you will not be stained by faults. The qualities of the great Buddha And the visions of the Bodhisattvas will arise. Having generated certainty in that, You will enter into luminosity. Meditating for half a month is extremely important. If you still cannot grasp it, In the secret space between the eyebrows, Focus on a white Haṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ), Thinking it is emptiness and luminosity.
