With water well-scented with eternal fragrance, I prostrate to the one who bathes well. This is the water of wisdom's nature, for purifying the stains of unwise knowledge. With water well-scented with wisdom's fragrance, I prostrate to the one who bathes well. May all the sins and obscurations of the deceased be purified, Śuddhe Śuddhe Biśuddhe Svāhā! (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, literal Chinese meaning). Attachment, hatred, and ignorance, these are the three poisons of the world. The Three Jewels are without poison. By the truth of the Three Jewels, may the poison be destroyed. May all the obscurations of mantra and object of focus be pacified, Śāntiṃ Kuru Svāhā! (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, literal Chinese meaning). The four elements are the father of poison, the four elements are also the mother of poison. By these true words of truth, may the poison of the deceased be without poison. May all the poisons of the elements and what arises from the elements of mantra and object of focus be pacified, Śāntiṃ Kuru Svāhā! (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, literal Chinese meaning). By the power of the merit of the Buddhas and the thoughts of all the gods, whatever your wishes may be, may those wishes be fulfilled today. May you two-legged ones be well and auspicious, may you four-legged ones be well and auspicious, may your journey be well and auspicious, may those who return also be well and auspicious. May the day be auspicious, may the night be auspicious, may the noon be auspicious, may day and night always be auspicious. May you not commit sins. May you be victorious over all opposing forces of focus. Furthermore, in the root words of the Bardo, it says: Alas! When the Bardo of existence dawns upon me, holding one-pointed desire in my mind, I will diligently continue the flow of virtuous actions. And it is said: Whoever keeps the Buddha in mind, the Sage resides before him. As it is said, in the sky in front of you, visualize your root guru, whose essence is the guru, but whose form is the Bhagavan, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Shakyamuni. Around him, in the inner mandala, are four Buddhas. Around the three outer layers are thirty Buddhas. In the sky above, are all the gurus of the Dzogchen lineage, as well as all the yidams, dakinis, dharma protectors, and guardians, residing like a dense cloud of rainbows. In their presence, may you, the deceased, offer prostrations. And with your friend as the object of focus, may we, the teachers and students, and their relatives and friends, also assist in offering prostrations. Affectionate thoughts for relatives.

Homage to Eva. (Instructing someone) to join their palms and bow their head. For the deceased so-and-so, always pay homage to the Lama, pay homage to the Buddha... up to paying homage to the King of Mountains. Recite these. By paying homage to all of these, all sins and obscurations will be purified. Whether the supreme victors who are currently living, or those who have passed away, as well as those who will appear in the future, to all of you whose qualities are praised immeasurably like the ocean, I join my palms and draw near to refuge. Now, deceased one, please imitate us with the intention of confessing all sins. All Tathagatas, such as the thirty-five Buddhas, in all the realms of the ten directions, Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Enlightened Ones, Bhagavans, all the Buddhas Bhagavan who dwell and live, please heed me. Me or others, or the deceased body
