The edges of the four corners are black. To the east of the water-patterned blue base is the White Crescent of Videha, to the south is the Blue Triangle of Jambudvipa, to the west is the Red Circle of Godaniya, and to the north is the Yellow Square of Uttarakuru. Each is supported by two similar subcontinents, with the sun and moon between the eastern and western continents and Mount Meru. At the eight intersections of the large and small continents, starting from the upper east, are successively the auspicious knot and the wheel, the east, the lotus and the victory banner, the south, the umbrella and the vase, the west, the conch and the golden fish, the north. The outer circle is the iron fence, which should be made black. Bouquets of flowers are arranged in the center and in the four directions, surrounded by offerings. Near it are jeweled vessels filled with white flowers, and in the center is a vase of nectar water. On the mirror above the vase, seven repetitions of the Dependent Arising mantra are written with white sandalwood, saffron, and borneol, with the letters facing outward in a rotating manner. Food offerings of tsampa are placed around it, adorned with ornaments. In addition, the inner and outer offerings are abundant and grand, common and individual possessions, worldly and transcendental tormas, the characteristics of musical instruments, etc. All the necessary items are gathered and displayed here, and one should be seated adorned with beautiful clothes and ornaments. The fourth is the mandala practice and offering, with oneself and those in front receiving empowerment, each according to their own ritual. The fifth is the vase practice. The deity vase has already been practiced before. Here, the bathing vases and others are cleansed with mantras, purified with Svabhava, from emptiness, etc., until they are filled. During the recitation, the master holds the thread attached to the mirror. Importantly, "On the surface of the mirror, with sandalwood water, after writing the words of Dependent Arising, recite it a hundred times and pour it into the vase." The meaning of this is that from the thread of the vajra placed on the mirror of the vase of mantras, one should contemplate that from above the vase of mantras, the place where the moon resides, etc., they merge into one taste, and recite the Dependent Arising mantra. Om ཛཱི་ན་ཛིཀ྄་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning) and the heart mantras of the five families should also be recited in the same way in each direction. In addition, it is customary to bless white mustard seeds and guggul, etc., with mantras and the four Hum syllables. The sixth is purification, dispelling obstacles and inauspiciousness.
