The Practice of Consecration Rituals Made Clear, A Well-Explained Playful Ocean. Gyurme Dorje. The Practice of Consecration Rituals Made Clear, A Well-Explained Playful Ocean. Gyurme Dorje. The book called "The Practice of Consecration Rituals Made Clear, A Well-Explained Playful Ocean" is here. Om Svasti. All the mandalas and wheels of the hundred peaceful and wrathful families, like the moon in water, are the creators of expansion and contraction. I bow to the kind guru, inseparable and of equal taste, and to the master of all things, Vajrasattva. May the nectar of his eloquent teachings, the source of precious accomplishments, the ocean of play, refresh those who are weary with the gifts of rest, through hearing, sharing with oneself and others of equal fortune. Therefore, it is necessary to determine this as follows: first, to explain the distinctions of knowledge; second, to put into practice the rituals of the results of explanation; and third, to elaborate on other incidental branches. First, there are seven topics: the nature of consecration, the object to be consecrated, the faults of not performing consecration, the benefits of performing it, the teacher who performs it, the place where it is performed, and the time when it is performed. First: All phenomena encompassed by the duality of grasping and being grasped are inherently of the nature of luminosity from the very beginning. Therefore, the wisdom being, not created by others, dwells pervasively like oil in sesame seeds. This is the spontaneously accomplished consecration. As it is said in the Hevajra Tantra: "This itself is great wisdom; all things constantly dwell in the body; essence of real and unreal, the main self; the way of two and not two; pervading the stable and the moving." Thus it is said. Thus, for those in whom that wisdom is not manifest, relying on the conventional truth, one generates the samaya being, and then performs actions such as invoking, withdrawing, binding, pleasing, and empowering the wisdom being, thereby accomplishing the nature of the deity. This is to be understood as having the purpose of accumulating merit for beings and connecting them to the profound definitive meaning. Thus, it is also said in the Consecration Tantra: "All Buddhas dwell in consecration, yet there is no consecration." And: "Relying on the conventional world, consecration is observed." Thus, the manner in which it is spoken of in terms of direct and definitive meaning. Second, the object to be consecrated:

According to the Tantras, represented by Buddha images made through hammering, writing, sculpting, and so on, including scriptures, stupas, temples, ritual implements, ornaments, ponds, and gardens. As it is said: "A Buddha image possesses perfect marks and qualities, imbued with the essence of peace and other sentiments, measured accurately and beautiful, only then should it be properly enshrined." Therefore, the Buddha images of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, each manifesting the characteristics of enlightenment, possessing qualities such as peace and other sentiments, and conforming to the standards of the Sutras and Tantras, should be beautiful and pleasing to all. Represented by these, all stupas and other objects to be enshrined should possess all the measurements and characteristics described in their respective treatises, making them complete and perfect. The four types of relics enshrined within Buddha images and other objects are: mantras are the Dharmakaya relics; ashes and bones are the relics of the physical body; hair and nails are the relics of the body's hair; and śarīraṃ (藏文,梵文天城体,śarīraṃ,梵文罗马拟音,舍利) and other mustard seed-sized relics. The manner of their placement is as follows: Within the crown of the head and the head itself, place mustard seed-sized relics and other blessed objects, as well as the names and mantras of the lineage masters and Buddha images, the uṣṇīṣa (藏文,梵文天城体,uṣṇīṣa,梵文罗马拟音,顶髻) mantras—such as the Uṣṇīṣa Vijaya and Immaculate. Although it belongs to the Action Tantra, its application here is exceptional. In the neck, place the Essence of Dependent Origination and the collection of blessings such as vowel and consonant mantras. In the upper torso, place the mantras of the three sections of Mahayoga, and the four body mantras of these. In the heart, place the awareness of emptiness, especially the root mantra of the deity, the Dharma wheel, and so on. Below that, place Yoga, in the waist place Conduct Tantra, in the navel place the mantras of the Action Tantra and their corresponding body representations, and in the lower part place the mantras of the Sutra section, such as the confession and purification practices of the Seven Buddhas. In addition, write down the pilgrimage texts and the blessings of the birthplaces according to their respective treatises. If space is insufficient, place the scriptures of the Sutras and Tantras, and so on, in all the upper and lower parts of the body, in the previous order without error. On the lotus seat, place the mantras of the Dharma protectors and wealth deities, the life-wheel, and the protective stone, especially the Yaksha wheel accomplished according to the proper method.
