After that, as before, initiate the contemplation with the aim of intimidating and subduing, which is called external subduing. Secondly, there are three methods for how to practice after going: three turns of contemplation of intimidation and subduing, methods for examining the degree of internal and external fullness, and offering the corpse of the practice body. The first has three: subduing the place, gods, demons, and self. The first is, mixing space and awareness, visualizing one's own body as extremely large, with the head at the end of the valley, the feet at the beginning of the valley, and the left and right ribs covering the left and right sides of the valley, thereby subduing the entire valley, thinking that until samsara is empty, one will not move from this seat, and abide in this state. Secondly, subduing gods and demons is, sitting on a comfortable cushion, first taking refuge, generating bodhicitta, and praying, with the main focus on those who harm me, all the gods, demons, and spirits of the phenomenal world, not one of whom has not been a parent since beginningless time, contemplating that these beings, due to ignorance, helplessly wander in samsara and are tormented by suffering, how pitiful! And strongly think like this. In order to place these beings in the state of unsurpassed bodhi, I will not move or shake from this place until samsara is empty, thus making a vow. In this state, from one's two nostrils, a cool wind blows, and this wind pervades all directions. Visualize that this wind gathers all the spirits of the world helplessly, and as the wind enters under one's seat, they are completely crushed underneath and unable to stand up, the external upper and lower directions. The gurus, yidams, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Dharma protectors abide without gaps, and on their exterior, surround them with vajra weapons and flames of wisdom, visualizing that there is no chance of liberation, and recite (Tibetan: ཕཊ྄ཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Chinese literal meaning: phew). If this does not reach the number of times, thirdly, subduing the self is, one's own mind is inherently pure, but because one has not realized this, the mind is deluded, visualizing that the clinging that arises from this becomes smaller and smaller, and in this state, recite (Tibetan: ཕཊ྄ཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Chinese literal meaning: phew), and settle the mind in a state of non-thought. If thoughts suddenly arise, then alternately practice these three meditations of intimidation and subduing. By diligently practicing these three contemplations, one can eliminate mundane clinging.

Do not enter. Demons flourish and are controlled. Appearances are false and wander in a daze. The extent of demons escaping and deceiving, like that, clearly will not happen, it is said. Second, the method of examining the extent of flourishing internally and externally is: Like that, relying on the samadhi of subduing the three, the three flourish, of which the first, the signs of external demons flourishing are: Earthquakes and mountains roaring, and. The appearance of unpleasant sights and the hearing of unpleasant sounds, etc., these frightening illusions will occur without exception, whether in real experience, meditative experience, or dreams. Among them, the best is three days, the medium is five or seven days. The worst will not exceed ten days before flourishing. However, because the power of the demons is small and the yogi's ability is great, they cannot rise up, and because the power of the demons is great and the yogi's ability is small, they do not flourish, etc. There are many situations, so know which situation it is, it is said. Second, the sign of the flourishing of intermediate diseases is: The sudden occurrence of severe diseases such as heart wind pain. Third, the sign of the flourishing of internal thoughts is: The arising of disgust in one's own continuum. Like depression, fear, and inability to control oneself, wanting to seek pleasure, and being angry. Being greedy for the objects of the eight worldly dharmas and desires, and being unable to suppress the thoughts that scatter outward, etc., various hopes and worries arise in the mind. Like that, no matter which of the three signs of external, internal, and intermediate flourishing occurs, do not generate even a trace of joy, sorrow, fear, or anxiety. Be certain that everything is a manifestation of the mind, like a drawing in the sky, and recite (Tibetan: ཕཊ྄ཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, meaning: cutting through), merging the dharmadhatu with awareness, and freely release it in the rootless and baseless nature of the mind. Let what comes, come! Let what is liked, be liked! Let what goes, go! Establish such a determined attitude. Third, the practice of the body as a feast offering: It is what is done when the extent of flourishing arises based on the object of subduing. Among them, Machig (Tibetan: མ་གཅིག་) said: Separate matter and awareness, merge the dharmadhatu and awareness. Abide in emptiness. Cast the practice of the body as a feast offering. It is said. On a comfortable cushion, sit in the seven-point posture. With eyes gazing into space, visualize at the soles of your two feet, the essence is awareness bodhicitta, the form is a white bindu, clear and shining like a fresh egg. These two rise from the center of the soles of the feet, from the inside of the legs, and reach the two knees.
