When distinguishing the past confusion, thinking there is no time to stay leisurely, strive to search for the mind with great diligence. The Lama repeatedly asks, have you found it? Have you not found it? What is the situation? If you say there is such a thing, it becomes the clinging of truth-grasping (Tibetan: བདེན་འཛིན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: satya graha, Sanskrit Romanization: satyagraha, literal meaning: truth-grasping), if you guess that it is empty and devoid of everything, because you have not found it, is it something that does not exist at all, or is it more likely that it exists but you just haven't found it? Hesitating like this, repeatedly ask people to cut off the root and inquire. If you say that you can't see it when you look, and you can't find it when you search, and in reality, nothing is established, then you have entered the key instruction, and you should be taught how to abide. Second, after entering the key instruction, the method of abiding is taught: Like this, searching does not find it, grasping does not seize it, looking does not see anything, it is nothing, and there is no self-nature that can be identified, just relax in that state, loosen, relax, and abide naturally without any modification. Do not be disturbed by any conceptual mind, abide blankly. Do not be swayed by good or bad objects, abide nakedly on whatever arises. Do not have the slightest practice, and do not have a moment of distraction, just abide loosely. Third, relying on the opening of the sky to recognize the nature is: In the meaning key instruction, recognize meditation; in the word key instruction, determine meditation; in the experience key instruction, practice meditation. The first is: All of you should sit upright in the seven-point posture, let the breath relax naturally, look at the sky with wide eyes, and abide blankly without any fabrication. In that state, look down slightly at the tip of the nose, and then with the inward-turning awareness, look carefully at the nature of your own mind, looking and seeing nothing, nothing at all, emptiness and clarity with nowhere to abide, everything is empty and vast. Separated from all attachments, self-appearance is clear, able to manifest anything, this is the ultimate Prajñāpāramitā (Tibetan: ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱི་ཕ་རོལ་ཏུ་ཕྱིན་པ, Sanskrit Devanagari: prajñāpāramitā, Sanskrit Romanization: prajñāpāramitā, literal meaning: perfection of wisdom). Recognize it on the spot like this. Also, you let a thought suddenly arise, and then deliberately look at it, in the state of the mind abiding, when the thought arises, looking at it at the moment of arising, there is no clinging. After the thought arises, before it has stopped, at that moment, it cannot be established what this is, so there is no clinging. When the thought disappears, it is not integrated into something, nor does it disappear like this, there is no specifi

There is nothing else. Therefore, all the appearances of arising, ceasing, and abiding are merely the unceasing flow of manifestation. There is no grasping onto anything, no subject or object, no thought or speech, no aimless wandering. Just relax in that state. Loosen, let go, cast far away, and release the mind of meditation. This is the original nature, Prajnaparamita, the intention of the Buddhas, the ultimate truth free from elaboration, and so on. Although many names are given through the gateway of terminology, in reality, it is just one's own mind, a moment free from thought and speech. Therefore, relying on the memory of simply recognizing that, without accepting or rejecting whatever arises, relax and abide. As Machig Labdrön said, "Tightly tighten, then loosely loosen, that is the key to meditation." In short, all appearances are merely illusions of the mind. Self-appearance is undifferentiated, and the nature of mind is not established in any way, so it is emptiness. The self-radiance of emptiness appears in every way, and since it is empty from the very moment of appearing, it is the union of appearance and emptiness. Turn that towards your own inner face and recognize it; there is nothing else. As it is said in the sutras, "The field of activity of the wisdom of individual self-awareness." Second, to settle meditation through verbal instructions, rely on three teachers to gain introduction. First, the teacher of scriptural authority: Having been introduced in this way, the nature of mind is emptiness, unborn, free from the extremes of elaboration. This is the actual nature, the intention of all the Buddhas. The Condensed Prajnaparamita Sutra says, "Those who fully know that all phenomena are without inherent nature, this is the supreme practice of Prajnaparamita." And, "Form is not seen, feelings are not seen, perception is not seen, consciousness is not seen, whatever has consciousness and mind is not seen, thus the Tathagata said that this is seeing the Dharma." Also, the Nirvana Sutra says, "The so-called Buddha-nature is the ultimate emptiness of the nature of mind, and the ultimate is wisdom. The so-called emptiness is seeing both emptiness and non-emptiness. The Buddha-nature is to be understood as the Middle Way, free from the two extremes." And so on, cite many teachings from sutras and tantras as support, thereby generating certainty. Second, the teacher of oral transmission and pith instructions:
