Speaking and the like are the ten virtues. Entering into action means saving the lives of others, giving alms, abiding in celibacy, speaking truthfully, reconciling those who are not friendly, speaking gently with peace, speaking only meaningfully, having little attachment and being content, generating altruistic thoughts with love, and generating three kinds of faith by believing in karma and its effects. The three experiences of results conforming to causes, etc., are the opposite of the above. By greatly practicing the ten virtues, one attains the body of a god. By practicing moderately, one obtains a human body. Although it is a virtue, if the mind is not pure and is mixed with non-virtue, one is born as an Asura. The ten virtues are the cause of happiness and well-being in this life and the next, so one should always strive to cultivate only virtue, thinking in this way. Fifth, taking refuge is: Since the suffering of the lower realms is unbearable, one has no choice but to seek a refuge where one will not be born in those evil realms. To be able to save from the suffering of samsara and the lower realms, one must be someone who has been liberated from that suffering themselves. Therefore, even great worldly beings like Brahma and Indra cannot save. The Sutra of the Great Nirvana states: Those who take refuge in the Three Jewels will attain fearlessness. Therefore, one must rely on the Three Jewels as the object of refuge. There are also three aspects to this: The refuge object that is present in front of us is the support of body, speech, and mind, and the Sangha, which is merely the object of focus. The object of manifest realization is the nature of the three bodies of the Buddha, the Dharma of scripture and realization, and the noble Sangha. The Buddha is the teacher, the Dharma is the path, and the Sangha is the friend who helps in accomplishing the path. The object of ultimate reality is only the Buddha. The Uttaratantra Shastra states: For those who go to the ultimate meaning, the refuge is only the Buddha. In this context, all refuge objects are gathered into the noble Tara, whose essence is the mother of all Buddhas, the Bhagavati Prajnaparamita, and whose form is the Sangha of the body, the Dharma of speech, and whose mind abides in the nature of the Buddha. Therefore, in the space in front, on a lotus and moon seat, visualize the noble Tara, inseparable from the Guru, surrounded by the ocean of the Three Jewels of refuge, manifestly present, with the right

All fears are dispelled. Thinking of constant protection from all the fears of samsara and the lower realms, with unwavering devotion, the words of refuge are: Namo! Lama, Yidam, Jetsunma! To the Three Jewels, the Victorious Ones, the Ocean! May I and all beings until enlightenment! Take refuge with unwavering reverence! Recite this hundreds or thousands of times, as much as possible. Finally, visualize all the objects of refuge dissolving into light and merging into oneself, thinking that one's being is blessed, and rest in a state free from elaboration, and dedicate the merit. Thus, having taken refuge in the Three Jewels. After that, the three general precepts, the three specific precepts, and the three concordant precepts should be studied in a common way, and eight special benefits will be obtained. These are the common stages of the path for a person of small capacity. Second, to train in the common stages for a person of medium capacity, there are two: contemplating the cause and effect of samsara, and contemplating the cause and effect of liberation. The first also has two parts: contemplating the suffering of the result, and contemplating the distinctions of the cause of origin. The first is: If I am liberated from the lower realms and reborn in the higher realms, is that enough? If you think so, there is no happiness there either. Those born as humans are tormented by eight sufferings. First, the suffering of birth is: When dwelling in the mother's womb, the womb is narrow and cramped, and the three sufferings of darkness and foul odor constantly arise. When the mother stretches out, it is like being pressed by a stone roller. When hungry, it is like being hung over an abyss. When eating and drinking hot or cold food, one experiences the suffering of heat and cold. When born from the womb, it is like being pulled from the eyeball. Even if wrapped in soft things, it is like being thrown into a thorn bush. When picked up by the hand, there is suffering like a chick being carried away by a hawk. In general, one must be born with unbearable feelings, so birth is accompanied by suffering. The seeds of increasing afflictions have been sown, so it is accompanied by adverse conditions. It has become the source of aging and death, so it has become a place of suffering. Later, when conditions meet, afflictions arise and become the basis for accumulating karma, so it has become a place of afflictions. Constantly changing from moment to moment, it decays uncontrollably, that is, it possesses five kinds of suffering. Second, at the time of aging, the good complexion turns bluish and the hair turns white, and the appearance deteriorates. The teeth fall out. The body
