The deity to be relied upon should be supplemented by reciting for seven days as a backing. Second, taking the basis of practice: taking the basis of practice with the five perfections of teacher and retinue, place and time, and abundant resources. It is the same as other commonalities, but the special feature is the time of practice, which is said to be performed on the eighth day of the waxing moon in autumn and spring when it is cool and the temperature is moderate. The special resources will be explained later. Third, the outer confession: erecting stupas, sprinkling water, peaceful fire offerings, proclaiming the teachings, incense offerings, near offerings, clearing road obstacles, offering golden drinks, giving alms, etc., do whatever rituals can be accomplished to increase the strength of favorable conditions. Fourth, the ritual of the earth: examining the earth, requesting, purifying, taking, protecting, and especially the order of abiding, etc. Fifth, constructing the mandala of the support: dividing the boundaries of outer, inner, and secret, expelling the demons and erecting pillars. Drawing the mandala of the support with lines and colors, these are all as explained by the fundamental practice-dependent treatises. In particular, since the mandala of the wrathful practice is the framework of other great practices, it is easier to enter if it is drawn on cloth, and it should be understood in this way. That is to say, if doing the Peaceful Hundred Deities, it should be drawn according to the determination of the respective practice order of the Peaceful Assembly of Sugatas or the Secretly Perfect Peaceful Mandala. If it cannot be done that way, the mandala of the Peaceful Forty-Two Deities should be drawn as a square, with four doors and horse steps, etc., possessing the characteristics of a complete palace, with an eight-spoked wheel in the center surrounded by a circle, making it beautiful and magnificent according to the rules of the Secret Illusion Network. Sixth, arranging the samaya substances, divided into two types. First, the arrangement of medicines to be placed on the mandala, and second, the way to place the medicines on the mandala. The first is: in the center and corners of a precious vessel that can hold five piles of skull bowls, the medicines and vessels are classified and placed separately. The lamps should be bright. Then the five fundamentals, etc., are classified into five vessels. As it is said, the five vessels are skull bowls. In the eighth chapter of the "Great Perfection Tantra," it says: The vessel placed in its center, a skull bowl that is not broken or cracked. It also says: Place an auspicious and pure skull bowl. Therefore, the skull bowl symbolizes the meaning of peacefully protecting the skull bowl and fulfilling the wishes of the gods and dakinis.

It is like this. Then, in the center, with the name "Three Kayas Spontaneously Accomplished Vajra Kapala," place a clean thread with complete characteristics and no gaps. Inside or below it, with the name "Immutable Eternal Vajra Kapala," place a turtle's skull; if not available, the plastron is also acceptable. Inside it, write the seed syllable HRIH (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:啥) with bezoar. Therefore, regarding the skulls to be placed, the Bambrgyad says, "In the four directions and four corners, place four or eight containers." Thus, in the east, place the "Immutable Solid Vajra Kapala," which is white and round; in the south, place the "Wish-Fulfilling Treasure Vajra Kapala," which has many wrinkles and four protrusions; in the west, place the "Subjugating the Three Realms Vajra Kapala," which has two crescent-shaped depressions; in the north, place the "Manifesting Miraculous Signs Vajra Kapala," which has three triangular depressions. If there is enough space, place a skull in each of the four corners as well. As the Khrokhar says, "Indestructible Treasure-Possessing Vajra Kapala, Liberating from Existence Vajra Kapala, Thoroughly Agitating the Three Poisons Vajra Kapala, Non-Conceptual Non-Elaboration Vajra Kapala." These are, in order from southeast, the skulls of a lion, an elephant, a great god, and a non-human (also called a great non-human). Since real skulls are difficult to find, they are merely given these names and placed clockwise from the southeast. The lion's skull is a suitable white dog's skull, the elephant's is a domestic elephant's skull, and the great god's is a palm-sized Kuva. Regarding the non-human, although there are many other identifications, the commentary on "the heart of the great non-human, etc." in the Bambrgyad says, "Non-human is a term that refers to the heart essence of the five fruits." The five fruits referred to here are human, elephant, horse, donkey, peacock, shangs-shang bird, and kuku bird, so any of their skulls can be used. The substances to be placed in these containers are, as the Bambrgyad says, "The five main ones and the five fruits, all substances with fragrance and nutrition." The five main ones referred to here are the five amritas. The five fruits here refer to the five meats. "All substances with fragrance and nutrition" refers to all the medicines needed for protection and connection. These also show the method of distinguishing types, as the Dron Sal says... The colophon of this book says that it was written by the scholar
