咽喉肿胀：毛发竖立四肢颤，舌色灰黄小舌垂，咽喉疼痛语难出，食不下咽渴难耐。细分病灶与病类，病灶分上中下三处，上为上段下为下段，哑病三类是喉痹。上段病灶在上喉中，下段病灶在下喉管，中段病灶居左右。因此产生声音异，上喉痹声粗，中喉痹声细，下喉痹声嘶哑如喉鸣。若仍不明其所以，便是病入上段之兆：眼红向上翻是也，难治脑肿胀而死，或有鼻中流血水。病入中段之兆是：喉哑声断食不下，难治病入肺管中，肺虚声嘶鼻梁塌。病入下段之兆是： 眼如利矛直视瞪，无有小痛气不畅，难治病入命脉心而亡，舌短眼失其光彩，手足乱动神智昏。未见之症依声辨，眼见之症依类分：上中下三段无论何处，病类不离此五种：外邪所染颜色六，病类父、母、子三种，疫喉痹、子类共五种。父类热病由土生，如糌粑拌豆，难治如星火燎原。母类由火与血生，如碗口倒扣，难治舌腭青或黑。子类由水与风生，水风相搏如酸奶，难治如天降雪。疫喉痹由风热生，如渔网撒盐，难治如利剑出鞘。子喉痹由白甜生，色灰无光末端肿，先以何食致病，便以何食治之。总而言之无论何类，外邪所染颜色变，魔黑、赞红、地神黄，龙青、国王白。女类厉鬼肿胀红，总而言之男犯女病重： 病在右侧最为重，女犯男病亦为重，病在左侧亦为重，此乃辨识明灯也。治疗之法分总别，总法药疗、食疗、咒疗，药疗护脏、杀病、化解、截断，治疗导泻、催吐

If it is still unclear, it is a sign that the disease has entered the upper section: red eyes turning upwards, difficult to treat brain swelling and death, or blood and water flowing from the nose. The sign of the disease entering the middle section is: hoarse throat, broken voice, unable to swallow food, difficult to treat the disease entering the lung tube, lung deficiency, hoarse voice, and collapsed bridge of the nose. The sign of the disease entering the lower section is: Eyes staring straight like sharp spears, no small pain, and difficulty breathing, difficult to treat the disease entering the lifeblood and heart, short tongue, loss of luster in the eyes, hands and feet moving randomly, and confused mind. Unseen symptoms are identified by sound, and visible symptoms are divided by type: no matter where the upper, middle, and lower sections occur, the types of diseases do not deviate from these five types: six colors caused by external evil, three types of diseases: father, mother, and son, epidemic throat 痹(bì), and five types of son. The father type of fever is caused by earth, like zanba mixed with beans, difficult to treat like a prairie fire. The mother type is caused by fire and blood, like a bowl turned upside down, difficult to treat, the tongue and palate are blue or black. The son type is caused by water and wind, water and wind clash like sour milk, difficult to treat like snow falling from the sky. Epidemic throat 痹(bì) is caused by wind and heat, like a fishing net scattering salt, difficult to treat like a sharp sword drawn from its sheath. Son throat 痹(bì) is caused by white sweetness, gray in color, dull, and swollen at the end, treat it with whatever food caused the disease in the first place.
