Offer the mandala. Having meditated on the lama on the crown of the head, by repeatedly receiving the four empowerments, definitely meditate on blessing one's own being. One's own body emerges naked, practice the conduct of the six realms of beings, examine the nature of suffering, and view that there is no essence of happiness. Make the body in the vajra posture, meditate as vajra and examine where it abides. With Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ) pierce through the outer vessel and inner essence, chant the sound of Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hūṃ) and examine the coming and going. Then relax the body and mind and leave it as it is, examine the three places of arising, abiding, and ceasing of the mind. When there is no examination in anything, then know that one's own mind is emptiness. At that time, for external objects, examine whether things exist or not. When one realizes that external and internal things are without substance, then everything abides in emptiness. Then meditate on the generation stage, channels and winds, and practice the path of great bliss. Then examine the meaning of primordial purity, if you examine the one who looks, who is there other than the mind? If you examine the object of looking, then that too is not other than the mind. When there is no object of looking and no one who looks, then what is called the way of looking? Examine the three: ground, path, and fruit. The ground is the essence of primordial purity, the nature is spontaneously present, clear light, in this, the two bodies ripen into fruit. When it first ripens into fruit, what is the benefit of the path? It is because the nature of spontaneous presence is not known. Like a poor person with a treasure under his feet, because the nature of spontaneous presence is not known, one's own self is obscured. In order to remove that obscuration, the path is needed, therefore there are three types: liberation, means, and instant. The path of liberation is a long path, the means is a near path, and more excellent than that is the single instant. The difference between sharp and dull faculties is great, but by practicing any of the three paths, like a poor person finding treasure in his house, one will realize primordial purity and spontaneous presence. Furthermore, this mind at first, although its nature is beyond words, if it is not revealed by the lama's instructions, and not subdued by understanding and realization, how can one realize its nature? Now, reveal it with instructions, this mind is uncorrected, greatly left as it is. This without identifying "this is it", is the essence of primordial purity, and although it is not something that can be seen, it abides in those with experience, clear and bright, distinct and open, this is the nature of spontaneous presence, what difference is there between essence and nature? If you think about it, essence and nature are two, like gold and light, there is no basis for separation, but in words, there is a distinction between gold and light.
