When in the lower position, sharply raise awareness and recite (Tibetan: ཕཊཿ) extensively. When going up, relax the body's key points and lower the gaze. When excited, use tightening, loosening, conceptual thought, or focusing, whichever is appropriate for the situation. When scattered, focus the mind on the deity's form and syllables. Furthermore, do not become attached to the mind's comfort, do not be infatuated with the mind's clarity, and do not delight in non-conceptual thought, but do not abandon these either. Without acceptance or rejection, and without abandoning, taking the uncorrected, unfabricated, self-aware, self-liberated state as the key to practice is the most crucial point. Fifth, identifying the stages of experience: When first engaging in meditation, conceptual thoughts arise continuously like waves in a mountain stream, which is the stage of agitation. Then, gradually, conceptual thoughts slow down somewhat, like a river flowing through a valley, which is the stage of attainment. Conceptual thoughts diminish and non-conceptual abiding predominates, like a slowly flowing river, which is the stage of habituation. When there are no strong disturbances, one is almost completely immersed in a state of non-conceptual thought, like the Ganges merging into the ocean, which is the stage of stability. Not only is one unaffected by disturbances, but one also transforms disturbances into the manifestation of awareness, like the depths of the ocean, which is the stage of completion. These are the five stages of experience. Furthermore, abiding manifests as the adornment of the mind, which is the experience of abiding, or one-pointed yoga; movement manifests as the play of the mind, which is the experience of emptiness and immovability, or yoga free from elaboration. Experiencing the meaning of the jewel and lotus of these two yogas is the experience of calm and insight combined; experiencing the taste of dharma and dharmata as one is the experience of equality, or one-taste yoga; all dharmas are effortless and the self-power of awareness is perfected, which is the experience of spontaneous accomplishment, or non-meditation yoga. These two yogas are the meaning of Mani (Tibetan: མ་ཎི་, Sanskrit Devanagari: मणि, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: maṇi, literal Chinese meaning: jewel) and Padma (Tibetan: པདྨེ, Sanskrit Devanagari: पद्मे, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: padme, literal Chinese meaning: lotus), the metaphor of calm and insight combined, realizing luminosity as it is, and then entering into the luminosity of meaning, thereby attaining the union body. These are just brief descriptions, and a more extensive realization needs to be explored elsewhere. Thus, the five key points of the completion stage presented here contain the essential instructions of all the profound aspects of the completion stage, and are presented as concise teachings. However, understanding the profound experience of reality solely through reading is not sufficient. First, one must rely on a qualified and unerring spiritual friend adorned with realization, and from the very beginning, not associate with wrong views, having faith that sees all Buddhas as one, viewing all actions as good, and all words

The reverence that is measured, the intention to do what is pleasing and abandon what is displeasing, the loyalty of not abandoning the vows of the root guru even if life is at stake. Possessing these four characteristics, by constantly and continuously supplicating the guru, the qualities of experience and realization will arise in the mindstream like the waxing moon. This is said to be the ultimate essence of all the Buddha's teachings, oral instructions, and essential points, a supreme teaching. Therefore, keep it in your heart, do not be hypocritical or double-tongued, take your own mind as witness, and sincerely practice until the end of your life. Not only that, but also make the determination to practice until you attain enlightenment. In general, although it is not necessary to rely on a guru after attaining Buddhahood, in order to show the aspect of not abandoning the guru, it is like Amitabha Buddha residing on the crown of the head of the noble Avalokiteśvara. Therefore, for those who are on the path of learning, it goes without saying that they must practice the guru. Therefore, at the beginning of seeking enlightenment, first seek a faultless and virtuous guru, and in the middle, rely on him with sincere reverence. Taking the vows as life, you will eventually achieve accomplishment, which is the most important thing. In addition, being weary of samsara, having little attachment to this life, having a firm mind of renunciation, vast altruism and compassion, diligently practicing virtuous deeds, and virtuous people who have a firm determination for asceticism are also essential and precious for practicing the supreme path. Thus, here, the key points of the path are only briefly mentioned, and the details should be obtained from the guru. The sutras and tantras, the supreme Dharma spoken by the Buddhas, the Dharma of cause, path, and result that gathers all the essential points, is universally pervasive, profound and clear, and without distinction. The means to ascertain its meaning, although many can appear, is the essence that gathers into one. The path of generation and completion for accomplishing the noble deity is extremely rare, the Dharma of the completion stage, the essential instructions of the rare essence, is the only path traveled by all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The co-emergent wisdom, the mind itself, the Dharmakaya, the key points of the essential instructions that reveal one's own nature as it is, the meaning is concise and essential, gathering the essential points, and if you want to expand, it can be detailed. Easy to hold, easy to practice, it is a supreme Dharma. This was skillfully extracted from the wisdom of Tshewang Norbu, and given to fortunate ones as nectar to nourish their minds. Do not follow the wisdom of discriminating thoughts and empty words.
