以铁串刺身体，极热地狱是用铁锅铜锅熬煮，沸腾时往上冒泡，如果烫到表面就长肉，如果烫到深处就伤及骨头，肺和心脏等所有内外都被火烧，并灌入熔化的铜汁，身体被烧成灰烬。无间地狱是整个大地都燃起熊熊烈火，身体像蜡烛一样被焚烧，只能听到惨叫声，却看不到火焰和众生，像磨面一样遭受难以忍受的痛苦。如果从那些地狱逃脱，四个方向都是燃烧着火焰的深坑，身体几乎要被淹没，脚放下去就被烧焦，抬起来就恢复原样。从那里逃脱后，又陷入腐烂尸体的泥潭中，被像铁铜针一样的虫子叮咬。即使从那里逃脱，在武器平原上，脚踩下去就被刺穿，抬起来就能活命。落下的树叶变成刀剑，不断砍伐。在铁刺树上，上下攀爬，精疲力尽，被鸟和狗啃食。从那里逃脱后，因为口渴而奔向河流，却掉进充满灰烬的滚烫河流中，肉和骨头都被烧焦，遭受痛苦。寿命方面，从复活地狱到极热地狱这六种地狱，以四大天王等欲界六天寿命的一天作为地狱的一天，从五百岁到六万岁的寿命翻倍计算。极热地狱能忍受半个中劫，无间地狱能忍受一个中劫。总之，复活地狱的火焰比劫末之火还要热，而且越往下，热度就以四倍递增，令人难以忍受。寒冷地狱是：在没有任何光亮的黑暗处，在冰川之间，在暴风雪中，在冰窟里，在冰渊里，在巨大的冰谷中，遭受寒冷的侵袭，发出颤抖的难听声音，喊着“阿秋秋”，发出“ кыхуд”的惨叫声，牙齿打颤发不出声音，寒冷的触感使身体长满拇指大小的水泡，更加寒冷时，水泡破裂变成溃疡，极度寒冷时，身体像莲花一样裂成四瓣，裂开的伤口内外翻转，由细小的血管连接，像青莲花一样裂开，裂成成百上千瓣等等。

Being pierced by a phurba (ritual dagger), the Extremely Hot Hell is where one is burned in boiling iron and copper cauldrons. When the bubbles rise to the surface, flesh grows; when they sink to the depths, bones are affected. Lungs, heart, and everything inside and out are burned by fire, and molten copper is poured in, burning the body to ashes. The Uninterrupted Hell is where the entire earth becomes a blazing fire, and the body is burned like a candle. Only the sound of screams is heard, but neither the fire nor the sentient beings can be seen. Unbearable suffering is endured, like grinding flour. If one escapes from these, in all four directions are pits of burning embers, nearly submerging the body. When a foot is placed down, it is scorched; when lifted, it recovers. Escaping from there, one falls into a swamp of rotting corpses, where worms with iron and copper needle-like mouths pierce the body. Even if one escapes from there, on a plain of weapons, the foot is pierced when placed down, and one lives when it is lifted. Falling leaves turn into swords and cut continuously. On the Shalmali tree with iron thorns pointing up and down, one climbs up and down, exhausted, and is eaten by birds and dogs. Escaping from there, one runs to the bank of a river due to thirst, only to fall into a scalding river full of ashes, where flesh and bones are burned, causing suffering. In terms of lifespan, from the Hell of Revival to the Extremely Hot Hell, the six hot hells, one day of the lifespan of the desire realm gods, such as the Four Great Kings, is taken as one day of hell, and the lifespan is doubled from five hundred to sixty thousand years. The Extremely Hot Hell can endure for half an intermediate kalpa, and the Uninterrupted Hell can endure for one intermediate kalpa. In short, the fire of the Hell of Revival is hotter than the fire at the end of a kalpa, and the heat increases fourfold as one goes further down, making it unbearable. The Cold Hells are: In a dark place with no light, between glaciers, in blizzards, in ice caves, in ice chasms, and in huge ice valleys, one is threatened by the cold, uttering trembling, unpleasant sounds, shouting "Achuchu," and screaming "kyihud." Teeth chatter, and no sound comes out. The touch of cold causes the body to be covered with blisters the size of thumbs. When it is even colder, the blisters burst and become ulcers. When it is extremely cold, the body splits into four pieces like a lotus. The split wounds turn inside out, connected by thin blood vessels, splitting like a blue lotus, splitting into hundreds and thousands of pieces, and so on.

Regarding lifespan, it is said in the Treasury of Knowledge: 'A hundred years pass in sesame oil extraction, one sesame seed taken out is exhausted, this is the lifespan of a water bubble, others are twenty years.' Thus, the water bubble one is guided first. The second place of the lower realms, the suffering of the pretas is also unimaginable. Those with external obscurations, afflicted by hunger and thirst, run in all directions but find no food or drink, nor do they see any. Their intestines stick to their vertebrae. Their hair is tangled and matted. Their throats are like bowstrings. Their limbs are like reeds. Tormented by heat and cold, their color is bluish and foul-smelling. Even if they find a little food and drink, their mouths are as small as the eye of a needle, and their throats are as thin as a horse's tail, so at first they cannot swallow it, and when it reaches their stomach, their belly is as large as a country, so it cannot be filled. Some lick their mouths incessantly, but there is no place for the food and drink to enter their stomachs. The poison in their mouths can also dry up rivers. They are always unable to bear the suffering of hunger and thirst. As it is said in the 'Letter to a Friend': 'A mouth as small as the eye of a needle, yet it must hold many terrible measures.
