Until enlightenment, I generate the mind of awakening. (Tibetan: བྱང་ཆུབ་བར་དུ་བདག་གིས་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དོ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: बोधिचित्त उत्पादयामि, Sanskrit Romanization: bodhicitta utpādayāmi, Literal Chinese meaning: Bodhicitta arise I). Three times. Before the indivisible presence of the Lama, the lord of the mandala, with palms together and holding flowers, recite this prayer: Ho! Vajra Acharya, be mindful! (Tibetan: ཧོ༔ རྡོ་རྗེ་སློབ་དཔོན་དགོངས་སུ་གསོལ༔) In this mandala of the Sugata Victorious Ones, (Tibetan: བདེ་གཤེགས་རྒྱལ་བའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་འདིར༔) We wish to enter with faith. (Tibetan: བདག་ཅག་དད་པས་འཇུག་པར་འཚལ༔) Please lead us into the mandala with compassion. (Tibetan: ཐུགས་རྗེས་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་གཞུག་ཏུ་གསོལ༔) Request three times. Then, to examine the lineage and fortune, please throw the flowers previously given to you into the mandala with the thought that they may fall upon the deity of your respective lineage, repeating these words: Ho! This flower of awareness that I, (Tibetan: ཧོ༔ བདག་གིས་རིག་པའི་མེ་ཏོག་འདི༔) Offer to the deities of the mandala, (Tibetan: དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ལྷ་ལ་འབུལ་ལགས་ན༔) May it fall upon the yidam deity (Tibetan: ཡི་དམ་ལྷ་ལ་འབབ་པར་ཤོག༔) Of whatever karmic connection there may be from the past. (Tibetan: སྔོན་གྱི་ལས་འཕྲོ་གང་ཡོད་པའི༔) Deva Aveshaya Ah. (Tibetan: དེ་བ་ཨཱ་བེ་ཤ་ཡ་ཨཱ༔) Thus, have them throw it into the cluster or the circular mandala, and also bestow a secret name. For example, for one who falls in the center, because your flower has fallen in the center, the deity of the lineage is Vairochana Heruka, and the secret name is Radiant Illusion Sugata Power. (Tibetan: འོད་གསལ་སྒྱུ་མ་བདེ་གཤེགས་རྩལ།) Thus say. If it falls in the east, then it is Vajra Essence Sugata Power. (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་སྙིང་པོ་བདེ་གཤེགས་རྩལ།) If it falls in the south, then it is Wish-fulfilling Self-Arisen Sugata Power. (Tibetan: འདོད་དགུ་རང་བྱུང་བདེ་གཤེགས་རྩལ༔) If it falls in the west, then it is Great Bliss King Sugata Power. (Tibetan: བདེ་ཆེན་རྒྱལ་པོ་བདེ་གཤེགས་རྩལ༔) If it falls in the north, then it is Activity King Sugata Power. (Tibetan: ཕྲིན་ལས་རྒྱལ་པོ་བདེ་གཤེགས་རྩལ༔) And so forth, bestow secret names that are in accordance with the deity's lineage. As a symbol of being inseparable from that deity, visualize sealing the three places with the three seed syllables. Having done so, recite Om Ah Hum (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་) and apply scented dots to the three places. Thereafter, in order to invoke the wisdom being, the actual basis of empowerment, please bind the key points of straightening the three doors, and visualize as follows: In an instant, you are complete in recollection as the Great Supreme Heruka, his body color blue-black, majestic with a purplish hue, his two hands stirring skull-blood with a vajra, his body extremely frightening and utterly terrifying, adorned with glory and charnel ground ornaments, his two feet in a relaxed posture standing on a lotus and sun disc seat, without the embrace of the consort Namshyalma in his lap, the father and mother inseparable, appearance but without inherent existence, possessing the demeanor of the nine dances, blazing with the splendor of glory, wrath, and ferocity, clearly visualize in his heart, on a seat of eight-petaled blue lotus, on top of the sun.

Visualize a dark blue Hūṃ (藏文：ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体： हूँ，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，汉语字面意思：吽) at the heart center, surrounded by eight more dark blue Hūṃs. Above the crown of the head, in the sky, on a lotus and moon seat, visualize the Dharmakāya Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri, surrounded by the lineage of gurus, vidyādharas, and siddhas with the five perfections, residing densely like a rainbow of light. Then, from the heart of the guru and from the Hūṃs in your own hearts, rays of light radiate in the ten directions, inviting all the root lineage gurus, including the gurus of the three kāyas, the learned and accomplished vidyādharas of India and Tibet. They dissolve into the gurus above the crown of your head, and those gurus also transform into a ball of light, dissolving downwards into the crown of your head. Maintain unwavering devotion.
