Method of Establishing: Like in the Secret Great Perfection Ati Yoga, relying on awareness in the mandala of the mind, through the means of introducing the deity's form as the play of mind itself, the key points of establishing it in the mind are learned and then practiced. In short, from the peaceful section of the empowerment of activity, it says: 'When the three realms become clear and pure, Meditate on the yoga of the deity you desire, All phenomena are equal to the deity in samadhi, The generation stage is complete as the form, The generation stage is the ultimate meaning, This is called the practice of the form.' Thus it is said. Secondly, the method of practicing speech: Generally, in the instructions for clarifying through the method of recitation, it says: 'There are four kinds of mantras in secret mantra, Namely, the root mantra that is the cause and not mistaken, The generation mantra that is the condition for generation, The recitation mantra that is the approach, And the urging mantra that is the activity.' From these, the latter two are explained here. Among the three ways of reciting with body, speech, and mind, firstly, for the recitation of the body, what should be recited? A rosary. Its material is: In the mantra practice instructions, 'Precious Rosary,' it says: 'The distinctions of rosaries, the Bodhi seed is excellent, Auspicious for all, it is the common recitation. Rudraksha is the recitation of the wrathful, Or it is said to be highly praised for fierce activities.' Thus it is said, so generally, the Bodhi seed is superior to all, so it is said to be supreme, and in other tantras it is also said: 'With the Bodhi seed, it becomes countless times.' Thus it is said. Specifically, for pacifying, the Bodhi seed is auspicious, and for wrathful, Rudraksha is auspicious. In the 'Precious Rosary,' it says: 'Recite the rosary after imbuing it with the nectar mantra.' Although it is not explained here to purify it with the blessing of the nectar mantra, generally, visualize the rosary as the deity, transform it into the form of a rosary, and bless it by reciting mantras such as rucira. With what should it be recited? With the fingers of the hand. How should it be recited? From that, it says: 'It is praised that all should hold it with the thumb and index finger, For fierce activities, count with the right thumb and index finger.' Thus it is said, for fierce activities, joining the right thumb and index finger is said to ignite the fire born of Dharma, and although the determination of right and left is not mentioned for other activities, since the right is specifically designated for fierce activities, it can be understood that the left hand is used for counting for pacifying, increasing, and subjugating activities. The method of counting is: placing the rosary on the index finger with the four fingers joined, with the thumb in the form of a vajra hook. Secondly, speech recitation.

Ah! What to recite? It is the essence of all the Buddhas. That is also stated in the "Treatise on the Condensed Meaning of the Commentary": "The ultimate of the practice of the speech of the Sugatas is this: The key to the mantras of the hundred noble families lies in the eighteen vowels." etc., thus showing the peaceful deities. "The key to the mantras of the general collection of wrathful deities lies in the ninety fierce mantras." etc., thus showing the mantras of the wrathful deities. That is, the eighteen vowels of the hundred peaceful families, the fourteen Bodhisattvas of the forty-two deities, the five hero syllables of the five families, the three syllables of the one great secret family, the Hūṃ syllable of the single mudra. The nineteen syllables of the Vajracanda (Tibetan: བཛྲ་ཙཎྜ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्रचण्ड, Sanskrit Romanization: vajracanda, literal meaning: Diamond Fierce) of the general collection of wrathful deities, the twelve syllables of the Mahā (Tibetan: མ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: महा, Sanskrit Romanization: mahā, literal meaning: Great) of the Great Supreme, the nine syllables of the Rulu of the Authentic, the seventeen syllables of the Akro of Mañjuśrī, the fourteen syllables of the Padmā (Tibetan: པདྨ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: पद्म, Sanskrit Romanization: padma, literal meaning: Lotus) of the Horse-Headed One, the fourteen syllables of the Kīlāya (Tibetan: ཀཱི་ལ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: कीलाय, Sanskrit Romanization: kīlāya, literal meaning: Peg) of Vajrakīla, the thirty syllables of the Guhya of the Mamos, the ten syllables of the Vajracanda (Tibetan: བཛྲ་ཙཎྜ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्रचण्ड, Sanskrit Romanization: vajracanda, literal meaning: Diamond Fierce) of the Subduer of Pride, the eight syllables of the Vajrasarva (Tibetan: བཛྲ་སརྦ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्रसर्व, Sanskrit Romanization: vajrasarva, literal meaning: Diamond All) of the fierce mantra. For the Vidyādharas, three syllables are mentioned here, but in the practice methods, Vajramahāguru (Tibetan: བཛྲ་མ་ཧཱ་གུ་རུ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्रमहागुरु, Sanskrit Romanization: vajramahāguru, literal meaning: Diamond Great Guru) appears. These are the mantras for recitation and approach. In the transmission of activities, it is said: "The ultimate of all speech is that which stimulates the heart essence; know it to be the mantra of recitation." Thus it is said. The mantra of activity that stimulates is the joining of the razor mantras of the four activities at the end, that is, adding Svāhā (Tibetan: སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: svāhā, literal meaning: Svāhā) to the end of pacifying and increasing, adding Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal meaning: Hūṃ) to the end of subjugating, and adding Phaṭ (Tibetan: ཕཊ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, literal meaning: Phaṭ) to the end of wrathful. With what to recite? Recite with the mind in the manner of the appearance of the sound of the mantra, or with the effort of the tongue and palate touching in the manner of the sound being produced. How to recite? Avoid faults such as the sound being too loud or too soft, reciting short syllables slowly and long syllables quickly, being too clear or unclear, talking to people or reciting other mantras during the session, or being interrupted by other words, or the mind being distracted elsewhere, and recite in this way. In the "Key to the Merits and Faults of Sound," it is said: "The eight faults of non-accomplishment are: The sound being too loud and too soft, slow and too fast, too clear and unclear, being interrupted by people's words, the mind being distracted outwards; the recitation that falls into these faults, even if the retreat is strict and the recitation is much, will be meaningless." Thus it is said. Furthermore, it also says: "Excess and deficiency and error, etc."
