Even if I don't have the ability to offer the mandala freely, may the Buddhas accept it with the power of their compassion for my own benefit. As it says in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: "For my own sake, please accept it with your own power." Therefore, at this time of instruction, I will also offer as many actual offerings as I can. Second, the inner mandala is offered by taking what is possessed and offering it with intention. Therefore, the text says: "Namo! In the bardo arising from worldly karma! That which I hold most dear with my mind!" Recite from there until "Please reveal the pure wisdom's own abode!" The point of meditation is that in this bardo of birth and death, the world, retinue, and desired enjoyments that I hold dear with my mind, parents, children, friends, food, wealth, clothes, ornaments, etc., all these cherished attachments are completely transformed and offered with intention. Third, the secret mandala is that the outer world and its contents, the inner retinue and enjoyments, etc., all become necessities for the aggregation of the four elements of my body. Therefore, even this clinging to the illusory body is offered without attachment. Therefore, "Hum! In the palace of the aggregation of the four elements of my own body!" Recite from there until "Please realize the self-knowing wisdom!" The way to offer is that the oral tradition of the lama has two types: offering as a whole and offering in parts. If offering as a whole, then in the center of the palace of the aggregation of the four elements of one's own body, visualize the blazing precious citta (Tibetan: ཙིཏྟ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ, Sanskrit Devanagari: चित्तरत्न, Sanskrit Romanization: cittaratna, Literal Chinese Meaning: Mind Jewel), adorned with the five sense faculties, with the eight consciousnesses circling around in a wheel-like manner, and offer the flesh, blood, bones, and internal organs as various desirable objects, and the two eyes as the sun and moon. If offering in parts, then peel off the skin of the body as a substitute for the golden ground, sprinkle blood as fragrant water, the lower body as the four elements, the upper body as Mount Meru, the head as the Victorious Palace, the two eyes as the sun and moon, the limbs, branches, etc., arranged in the directions as the four continents and eight subcontinents, and the flesh, blood, internal organs, etc., spread out as the nature of the five desirable objects. It is said that by offering the mandala in this way, in the three aspects of outer, inner, and secret, the outer is the object to be grasped, the inner is the grasping mind, and the secret is the activity of the mind...

All offerings become the cause for perfecting the great accumulation of merit and wisdom, therefore they are more excellent than other offerings. Thus, the outer, inner, and secret mandalas, during practice instructions, are offered by dividing them into days like refuge and bodhicitta, and after offering them in the usual way, the objects of offering are gathered into oneself. Third, purification of obscurations: In the text of the Five Nails, it says, "The third is the nail of confession for purifying obscurations; as long as the obscurations of karma are not purified, the true essence will not be realized." Therefore, how to practice it? Hūṃ! From "One's own illusory body is like wood and stone; on the top of the head, on a lotus and moon seat; from Āḥ arises Vajrasattva" to "Think that the inner and outer body is washed and purified." There are also two types: common and uncommon. The common one is as in the previous passage. The uncommon one is: In general, to destroy the five poisons, on one's own head, like the common way, visualize the clear Vajrasattva, in the skull cavity of his head, there is a white Vajrasattva who destroys ignorance. In the throat, there is a red Vajrasattva who destroys attachment. In the heart, there is a dark blue Vajrasattva who destroys hatred. In the navel, there is a yellow Vajrasattva who destroys miserliness and pride. In the secret place, there is a green Vajrasattva who destroys jealousy. These also reside on a lotus and moon seat, sitting in the vajra posture, on the moon seat in their respective hearts, there is the syllable Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,hum,吽), white, red, dark blue, yellow, and green, surrounded by mantras of the same color as the seed syllables of the hundred-syllable mantra. After visualizing clearly, reciting the hundred-syllable mantra, from the seed syllable and mantra garland in the heart of the Vajrasattva in the skull cavity, a stream of light nectar descends, filling the body like a glass bottle filled with milk, overflowing outwards. Visualize that the body of the root Vajrasattva is also filled with light, flowing out from the big toe of the right foot, the inner and outer of one's own body are washed by the stream of purifying light nectar, the karma of ignorance that is to be purified, the karmic obscurations that cause rebirth as animals are purified, the result of purification, the wisdom of dharmadhatu is manifested. Visualize that the purifying light radiates in the ten directions, and the objects to be purified, the results of purification, etc. of all sentient beings are the same as above. Similarly, from the heart mantra and mantra garland of the red Vajrasattva in the throat, a stream of light nectar descends.
