When thoughts arise, let them clear in their own place. Whatever arises, take it as the path, and practice will be easy. Wandering thoughts clear in their own place and are roused as the path. At that time, all that is meditated upon and all that meditates arise as friends, so there is no waxing or waning in experience. The nature of reality and wisdom are without interruption. There is no narrowness or wideness in conduct. There is no suffering or grasping. There is no interruption or partiality. Having attained the stability of immutability, practice in this way. This profound instruction is the secret heart of all the Buddhas. Because it is something that can be seen, looked at, and touched, it is suitable for old and young, sharp and dull faculties, great and small wisdom, high and low births. Why? Because everything arises from the mind, so there is no sentient being without mind. All actions are like children's games or self-binding with the saliva of insects, buying suffering for oneself. Therefore, by abandoning everything and leaving it without grasping, awareness arises clearly and emptily. By becoming accustomed to this, when the material and consciousness separate, wisdom and the Dharmakaya are inseparable, so it is very profound. There are eight essential instructions for attaining stability in this. Think about death and remember impermanence, and because there is no time to stay in life, generate diligence. Diligence arises from friends, so contemplate the biographies of accomplished masters. Abandon idle talk and frivolous talk and stay alone. Close relationships and children are binding, so cut the ties. Food and wealth are suffering, so eat whatever comes. Bad deeds are taught by bad friends, so do not rely on friends of sinful conduct. This life is just an example, so meditate greatly on the meaning. Non-distraction is the beginning of the path, so hold the reins of mindfulness. As it is said, introduction is made. Third, the introduction is made by pointing an accusing finger at the student's heart. As it says in the teaching text: Son of a noble family, sit upright in a squatting position and straighten your body. Loosen your mind and rest for a moment. As it is said, the meaning of the words is introduced. If you wonder what the difference is between the mind of the Buddha and the mind of sentient beings, it is the difference between understanding and not understanding the meaning of this moment of your own mind. Because of not understanding, ignorance and delusion arise, so the five poisons manifest in various ways and wander in samsara. The cause of Buddhahood that exists within oneself is not recognized. Thus, all sentient beings have the cause of Buddhahood, especially those with the leisure and fortune of human birth.

There is no high or low. To realize it, the Buddhas spoke of eighty-four thousand Dharma doors, but in summary, they are contained in three words. How is that? When the outer object of grasping is pure, appearances are self-liberated; when the inner mind of grasping is pure, awareness is self-liberated; in between, when the clear light mother and child meet, one knows one's own face. To explain its meaning a little: The outer object of grasping is pure, which means that if one's own mind is not defiled by conceptual thoughts, and one abides in self-illumination, then one does not cling to the appearance of outer objects of happiness and suffering. Then, no matter how appearances arise, they are not established as true or real. Because the wisdom of self-grasping is pure, one can make the outer object of grasping pure. The so-called purity of the object of grasping does not mean that there is nothing, but because there is no clinging, just as the image in a mirror is not established as true, the appearing realm is like a dream, an illusion, a child's game, or a rainbow in the sky. The inner mind of grasping is pure, which means that no matter what conceptual thoughts or five poisons arise in the mind, one does not grasp them, but throws them far away and lets them go. Just as one does not regard a poisonous flower as a treasure even though it is bright, one does not follow conceptual thoughts, but looks at their essence, relaxes, and lets them self-liberate. One is not confused by the causes of agitation. The so-called purity of the grasping mind does not mean that one becomes like a stone, but that awareness does not leave behind the defilement of conceptualization, just as there is no other soil on the precious golden island. Knowing that awareness and luminosity are self-liberated, even the name of conceptual thought does not exist. In between, the clear light mother and child meet, which means that by practicing in this way, one's own awareness is pure and stainless, bright and clear, and a natural wisdom of Dharma nature arises, blissful and clear, non-conceptual, and an experience that is not defiled by clinging. This is the intention of the Buddhas, so one must continuously maintain the state of self-knowing and self-seeing with mindfulness. The conceptual thoughts of grasping and being grasped are naturally liberated. Realizing the ground of unconditioned Dharma nature, and generating a firm conviction free from doubt and fault, is the meeting of the clear light mother and child. Just as one does not need to practice the mother when one meets one's own mother, one recognizes that self-luminous and self-arising Dharma nature is Dharma nature, and one recognizes that all of samsara is Dharma nature. One will not generate conceptual thoughts about what is truly meaningful or not, therefore, the fact that all dharmas have no self-nature is the mother, and recognizing that there is no self-nature is the son. Therefore, awareness is recognized in the Dharmadhatu, and thus self-
