By abiding in this way, the scattering of discursive thoughts gradually decreases, but the clarity of awareness does not cease. Emptiness, awareness, and the memory of self-knowing awareness arise effortlessly. The movement of scattering gradually subsides, the appearance of the body and sensations disappear, and the in-and-out breaths are not felt. Awareness abides unwavering like a waveless ocean. This is quiescence (shamatha), the foundation of meditation, like a field. To abandon attachment to the taste of quiescence, the verses of the guidance text are mixed up and down, and their meaning is summarized as follows: By going to a secluded place never before visited, a new thought will arise, so gather awareness there and carefully observe its nature. The place where the first discursive thought arises, and the place where it ultimately disappears, the awareness up to now, like a tightly wrapped ball, the delusion of binding oneself, just relax and let go. Similarly, by going in order to places where attachment and aversion arise, such as cemeteries, empty houses, cliffs, precipices, enemies, demons, relatives, and possessions, new thoughts will arise. As the guidance text says: "Then gradually go to cemeteries and empty houses, cliffs, precipices, enemies, demons, places of attachment and aversion, gradually going will give rise to new thoughts." Therefore, in the elimination of individual obstacles of the three poisons, the elimination of the obstacle of anger is: If anger and fear arise towards enemies, demons, etc., the guidance text says: "When anger arises, observe its nature, enemies will also become friends, like an illusion." And "When fear arises due to enemies and ghosts, it arises from strong clinging to cherishing oneself. If the body feels fear, it is like a bubble, mud, and stone, no matter what you do, it will eventually be abandoned by death." And "Enemies and ghosts are also like dream appearances, where are the enemies and ghosts of sleep when you wake up? Similarly, the current clinging appearance will bring destruction, if you abandon clinging appearance, the mind will not be afraid of enemies, relax, let go, abandon far away, and abide in an un fabricated state." Therefore, if strong anger arises towards an enemy, observe its nature and abide equally, the appearance of clinging to the enemy will naturally disappear, and the enemy will also become a friend, like an illusion. If the discursive thought of clinging to enemies and ghosts is very strong, and the appearance of fear arises, it is due to one's own clinging to cherishing oneself. Arising from tight bonds.

Having thought thus: If this body is afraid, although it is cherished like a bubble, earth, and stone, it will eventually die. If the appearance of enemies and demons arises, it is also like a dream, so when you wake up, there is nowhere to be found. Therefore, if you abandon the appearance of dualistic grasping, you will be liberated in your own place, so relax and let go, and leave it uncorrected. The remedy for the obstacle of desire is: In the instruction text, it says: "When desire arises, look at its nature; flesh and blood, youth, impermanent, like a dream; there is no essence in anything, abandon attachment; with unattached mindfulness, stabilize samadhi." Therefore, when desire arises, look at its nature, and all the flesh and blood and youth of the object of desire are impermanent and will become old, and the nature of ugliness is like a dream, so transform the mind of attachment and leave it unattached. The remedy for the obstacle of ignorance is: In the instruction text, it says: "If the mind is not clear like a shepherd; hold on tightly with mindfulness and pray to the master; the thick accumulation of ignorance, hold it with mindfulness; praise the mind and maintain samadhi for a while." Therefore, if it sinks and becomes thick, and the mind is not clear from the shepherd's position due to the power of ignorance, then in the state of mindfulness, meditate on the guru on the crown of the head, and pray with devotion, praising the mind and practicing samadhi. This is Guru Padmasambhava's oral instruction and introduction to Rigdzin Gödemchen in pure vision. When the mind is disturbed by doubts about the appearance of circumstances and you don't know what to do, pray to the lama from the state of awareness in the shepherd's position. Afterwards, the wisdom that arises is not defiled by conceptual thoughts, and that is the heart talk that cuts through exaggerations. It seems to be the same meaning as what was said. Thus, when the suffering of the conceptual thoughts of sickness and death arises in the self-nature of the habitual tendencies created by the three poisons, one should examine the origin of these, the three realms, and how to take them into the path. The instruction text says: "When the suffering of sickness and death arises; look at the place of origin, the place, and the nature of it; sickness is the habitual tendency of clinging to cherishing; suffering is the conceptual thought of fearing death; pain is the ripening of karma from afflictions; if you examine it well, it is the true Dharmakaya; when you are sick, there is nowhere to go; do not cherish, abandon the fear of death; the taste of pain, do not taste it, remain in equanimity; therefore, you should
