This sequence also shows the progression between the heat and peak of the practice path. The way to practice these and establish them is also stated in the "Vast Expanse of the Mind Stream of Intentions": "The channels are like a house, the winds are like the owner, the bindus are like wealth. The key to diligent practice is to establish body, speech, and mind. Proceed and gradually apply them to work. Diligently train yourself and others who possess characteristics. Once proficient, establish both conventional and ultimate truths as equal. Whoever progresses in this way, supreme and common actions will arise." It also says that by relying on the key points of the three doors, the impurities of the channels, winds, and elements are purified, and everything is purified in the realm of Avadhūta (Tibetan: ཨ་བ་དྷཱུ་ཏི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अवधूत, Sanskrit Romanization: Avadhūta, Literal Chinese meaning: One who is free from defilements), thereby realizing the three vajras and the qualities of the path signs arise as a side effect. "Channels purified, winds purified, bindus purified, the play of wisdom naturally arises." Such things are extensively explained. The third of the five branch practices is to take tummo itself as the basis for practice and to engage in its branch yoga, which consists of five parts. The first is the practice of the illusory body. The key to the profound practice, as taught by someone who has perfected the yoga of wind and tummo, is to train the pure illusory body, which combines bliss, wind, and mind, and all impure phenomena as illusions. As explained in the context of form yoga, visualize the deities of the empty body mandala and their retinues as before. Hold the vase breath and focus on the assembly of blood-drinking deities on the crown of your head. From them, rays of fire with the colors of the rainbow emerge. When they touch the deities of the body mandala, who have the nature of melting bliss, all of them become deities in illusory, rainbow-like bodies. The rays radiate outwards, pervading all outer and inner phenomena, both stable and moving, so that their essence becomes great bliss. Consider that the mandala of wisdom dakinis, with the nature of illusory appearances, arises vividly. Then, gather wind, mind, and consciousness into one and hold the mind for a long time. Finally, all of that gradually dissolves and merges into yourself, like breathing on a mirror. Dissolve yourself into the realm of clear light. Then, arise again in an illusory body and practice as before, so that the pure illusory body arises.

Practice. Whatever arises in the realm of the six external aggregates, the appearance of enemies, friends, and neutrals, whatever thoughts of attachment, aversion, and ignorance arise, all of these are the illusory nature represented by the eight similes. If you practice and transform them into the nature of the deity's body, which is the indivisibility of appearance and emptiness, you can subdue the impure illusory body. In order to enhance samadhi, in the morning when the sun rises, face west. Place a clear glass or mirror in front of you. Place a clear water vessel in the middle. Write the body of a dakini upside down and let it appear in the mirror. Recognize that the union of appearance and emptiness is an illusory body, and focus your mind one-pointedly. Once the mind is focused, emanate countless such deity bodies, and contemplate all the outer and inner worlds as clearly manifesting as the nature of the deity. Practice in this way. Whatever forms of grasping and conceptualization arise, do not cling to them as real, but recognize them as illusory. Recite (Tibetan: ཕཊ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: phaṭ, Chinese literal meaning: fa te), and forcefully cut it off. Second, measure with dreams. Continuously maintain the thought that everything that appears during the day is a dream. At night, when going to bed, keep the body in a lotus posture and practice vase breathing. Focus the mind on the vidyadhara lama in the throat of the body's central channel. Strongly wish and pray to quickly grasp the dream, and visualize all the retinue dissolving into light and merging into the main deity. The main deity merges into the very subtle red bindu in the lama's throat, which has the nature of bliss and clarity. Focus your mind on this. Think, "This is dreaming a dream." Then, focus only on the bindu, without allowing other conceptual thoughts to interrupt. Hold the subtle breath and fall asleep, so that you can recognize that you are dreaming in the dream, and know that it is a dream. Although it is difficult to grasp it several times, if you persevere and practice day and night alternately, you can grasp the dream by relying on fear and the like, and then you can recognize the dream at will. After grasping the dream, gain stability, and then transform and practice various things such as size, goodness, badness, and shape. Emanate many from one, and then gather them back into one. Visit buddhafields and listen to the Dharma with various emanations. Practice in stages. Finally, merge with the illusory body and arise as the deity. Merge with clear light and rest in the non-conceptual, innate state. Everything that appears during the day, especially sudden thoughts of fear, whenever they arise, consider them to be a dream.
