Let me rest in self-liberation in my own place. Similarly, in the stages of the first, second, third, and fourth dhyanas, eliminate the faults such as the experience of desire, the experience of joy, and the experience of stability, and without falling into the four extremes of existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, recognize your own nature in your own place, and with the wisdom of vipassana that transcends thought, look directly at the naked face of reality. And, do not meditate with the thought that "it is like this," and do not let go with the thought that "there is nothing to meditate on," without being defiled by the stains of mental fabrication, and without being separated from the confidence of knowing your own nature as it is, rest in equipoise without distraction. If you cultivate with the four characteristics of subtlety, clarity, luminosity, and non-conceptuality, then you have the essence of eliminating obstacles and increasing merit, almost all of which are completely gathered, so it is taught that focusing on this alone is essential. In this way, you can be free from all different obstacles and wrong paths, and by diligently practicing this approach and accomplishment of purifying the five elements, channels, winds, and bindus, you will be united with the fruit of the indestructible three vajras. The practice of Guru Padmavadjra, pacifying the harm of the inner and outer elements, the vajra yoga key instruction like a wish-fulfilling jewel, the seventh chapter. ༈ The eighth key instruction is the practice of Guru Black Hayagriva. Among them, the preliminaries are the same as the others. In the space in front, visualize in an instant of recollection and completion a vast ocean, blue and clear, in the center of the ocean a great fire blazing. In the center of the fire, from the syllable (ཀེཾ,kam,堪,Emptiness)visualize two skeletons, male and female. These two skeletons alternately open and close their mouths, and from this arise two great flames, flashing red like lightning, making the sound kam kam (ཀེཾ་ཀེཾ,kam kam,堪堪,Emptiness Emptiness), from the tips of the flames melt the letter HRIH (ཧྲཱིཿ,hrih,舍,Lotus), black-red and marked with a vajra, from the melting letter, on top of the heads of the two skeletons transform into a male and female tiger. These two tigers also, due to the opening and closing of their mouths, on top of the heads of these two tigers, on the seat of male and female rakshasas, is a mandala of the sun. Above the mandala, red-black bindus, like sunlight, melt and manifest as the essence of all Buddhas of the three times, the root guru Padmasambhava himself, appearing as the supreme of all wrathful deities, glorious Black Hayagriva, one face and two arms, two legs standing in the posture of a dwarf.

Residing. With both hands, he strikes the sandalwood drum on his left knee. His body is adorned with the eight charnel ground ornaments. On the crown of his head is a verdant horse head that neighs. His hair is brownish-black and stands erect. His mouth is open, his tongue is curled, and his teeth are clenched. Flames blaze from his hair, beard, and eyebrows. His three eyes are wide open in a wrathful gaze. His ears are adorned with bone ornaments, and he is exceedingly fierce, possessing the power to kill. In his embrace is the consort Vajrakrodhi, her body blue in color, holding a curved knife and skull cup, embracing him from the neck. She is naked and adorned with bone ornaments. In the four directions are the four classes of dakinis holding the four mudras—hook, lasso, chain, and bell—colored white, yellow, red, and green, adorned with bone ornaments. On the crown of Guru Hayagriva is the master Padmasambhava with a skull garland, his body red-black in color, with one face and two arms. His two feet are in a dancing posture, the right drawn in and the left extended. His right hand holds a skull drum, which he shakes in the sky, making a sound, and his left hand rests on his hip holding a bell. He wears a tiger skin loincloth. He is adorned with dry and wet skulls and bones. He has the attire of a wrathful deity. The consort Vajravarahi, holding a curved knife and skull cup filled with blood, is in union with him, inseparable. In the four directions around them are the four classes of secret wisdom dakinis, in front, in order, colored white, yellow, red, and green. They have one face and two arms, holding a hand drum and bell. They are adorned with bone ornaments and have the appearance of wrathful goddesses. Furthermore, around the periphery of all those deities, countless assemblies of wrathful deities, male and female, swirl like a blizzard. The entire outer layer is a continuous mass of flames blazing intensely, the tips of all the flames adorned with vajras and the letter ram(藏文:རཾ,梵文天城体:रं,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,汉语字面意思:Ram). Everywhere, sparks fly, and all the remaining spaces are filled with skeletons, heads, hands, and so forth, adorned with kem(藏文:ཀེཾ,梵文天城体:केṃ,梵文罗马拟音:keṃ,汉语字面意思:Kem). All the main figures and their retinues are visualized as having exceedingly terrifying forms. The invocation, offerings, praises, and so forth are the same. The supplication: "When walking on dangerous paths and cliffs..." And so forth. When one prays continuously, many fierce and intensely hot wisdom flames emanate from the body and protective circle of the Guru and his retinue. All harm-doers are destroyed like particles of dust, and all the rays of light and fire gather back, forming a blazing protection.
