There are two parts to the explanation: training the mind with uncommon preliminaries, and teaching the actual practice of primordial purity. First, it is important to diligently engage in guru yoga at the beginning of all preliminaries and main practices. In general, the outer guru yoga described in the context of the preliminaries should also be given special attention. However, inner yoga is more important. Visualize your own body as the empty and luminous vajra channels and five chakras, in the center of which the guru Skull Garland Power Five Deities together with their consorts, knowing that they have been present in their natural state since the very beginning. Invite the indwelling Orgyen main retinue with the Seven-Line Prayer, bestow blessings, and offer with samadhi. HRIH! I pray to the great Orgyen Padmasambhava, who is the embodiment of the body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities of all the gurus, yidams, dakinis, buddhas, and bodhisattvas of the three times, and who has no difference in his activities! Please ripen and liberate my body, speech, and mind. By constantly and intensely making such prayers that realize the true nature, a stream of blessing nectar arises. It dissolves into the deities of each chakra. Great wisdom is transferred to one's own being. Finally, imagine that all the deities dissolve into their respective chakras. Leave your mind uncorrected, relaxed, empty, and clear, free from grasping. This very state is the great equality of the three kayas, inseparable from the Orgyen guru. By maintaining the natural flow of awareness like a river, the wisdom of primordial purity will effortlessly arise in the main practice, and the interdependent conditions will be complete. There are three parts to the actual preliminaries: distinguishing samsara and nirvana, the preliminaries of the three doors, and gathering and dissolving. First, of the outer and inner, the first is the outer distinction of samsara and nirvana: pray to the guru. If in a secluded place, go to an empty space, offer a white torma to the local deities, and ask for help. If this is not possible, it is also fine in your own place. The basis is that the creator of samsara and nirvana is self-awareness, and its manifestations or actions appear in various ways. However, know that both are created by oneself and have no real meaning. Hell has heat and cold, hungry ghosts have hunger and thirst, animals have servitude, humans have birth, old age, sickness, and death, asuras have fighting, gods have falling, etc. All the behaviors of the six realms are mind.

Thinking of experiencing it in one's own continuum, the body makes all kinds of gestures such as stretching, running, walking, and standing. The mouth utters various sounds, continuously and without interruption, until exhaustion causes panting. Afterwards, maintain the self-nature of clear emptiness, indivisible. Again, the body displays the forms of the peaceful and wrathful Sugatas, the mouth utters the sounds of mantras, and the mind holds a clear sense of pride in the great bliss of these wisdoms. Wisdom is the completion stage of emptiness, and clarity is the generation stage of deity appearance. These two are indivisible in the single wisdom, maintained in the naked self-awareness beyond thought. Through this, the path of appearance arises. Grasp the key points of the generation and completion stages, and the experience of clear emptiness arises. Second, the differentiation of the inner root letters: At the crown of one's own ordinary body is the seed syllable A (Tibetan: ཨ་, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A) of the gods. At the throat is the seed syllable SU (Tibetan: སུ་, Devanagari: सु, Romanized Sanskrit: su, Literal Chinese meaning: Su) of the Asuras, greenish-yellow. At the heart is the seed syllable NRI (Tibetan: ནྲྀ, Devanagari: नृ, Romanized Sanskrit: nri, Literal Chinese meaning: NRI) of humans, bluish-green. At the navel is the seed syllable TRA (Tibetan: ཏྲི་, Devanagari: त्र, Romanized Sanskrit: tra, Literal Chinese meaning: Tra) of animals, reddish-black. At the secret place is the seed syllable PRE (Tibetan: པྲེ་, Devanagari: प्रे, Romanized Sanskrit: pre, Literal Chinese meaning: Pre) of the pretas, reddish-black. At the soles of the feet is the seed syllable DU (Tibetan: དུ་, Devanagari: दु, Romanized Sanskrit: du, Literal Chinese meaning: Du) of hell beings, smoky. Visualize that the predispositions of these six realms are inherently present in these places, like smoke billowing from a coal pit. The purifying method is the wisdom vajra of the three syllables, in the form of white OM (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ॐ, Romanized Sanskrit: om, Literal Chinese meaning: Om) at the crown, red AH (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: ah, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah) at the throat, and blue HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) at the heart, visualized as blazing with radiance and light. Through reciting these three syllables, the fire of wisdom arises from them, burning like self-light, completely incinerating the seed syllables of the six realms along with their predispositions. Purify the causes and effects of samsara and the lower realms, and visualize oneself as a clear, transparent crystal ball that has been polished. Recite OM (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ॐ, Romanized Sanskrit: om, Literal Chinese meaning: Om) AH (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: ah, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah) HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) seven million times, clearly, purely, and steadily. By this, the signs of purification of obscurations will appear, the body will be comfortable, speech will be purified, and the mind will experience clarity and emptiness. By transforming the seed syllables of rebirth in the six realms into the path, one will no longer revert to samsara. Second, the preliminaries of the three doors are threefold: body, speech, and mind. First, the training of the body: On a soft and spacious cushion, place the soles of the feet together, with the heels pressed against the secret place. Straighten the body, join the palms without touching the head, and extend the elbows. Press the Adam's apple with the throat, look at the space in front, and focus the mind on one's own body.
