From now on, let the awareness abide in an unwavering state. The way of looking with the eyes should not move from the three ways: namely, the key point of awareness is the pulse, the key point of the pulse is the door, and the key point of the door is the lamp. If the pulse does not move, the eyes do not move; if the eyes do not move, the lamp does not move. Therefore, if the mind does not move, conceptual thoughts will not arise, and there is a need for indivisibility of space and awareness. Awareness should not move from the manifest vision of clear light. That is to say, the awareness of compassion is like a clear mirror, and the vision of clear light arises uninterruptedly. Without being defiled by grasping and being grasped, by letting it arise and dissolve on its own, the doors of the four visions will become clearer and more stable. Secondly, measuring by the three abidings. Because of being accustomed to the indivisibility of space and awareness, the measure of stability, the three abidings, will arise. Because the wind that moves the outer appearances is exhausted, space and awareness abide without coming and going. Because the wind that moves the inner aggregates is exhausted, the body abides without movement. Because the wind that moves the secret conceptual thoughts is exhausted, conceptual thoughts abide without the possibility of flowing. At this time, there are two situations: measuring by dreams, and the signs appearing on the three doors of body, speech, and mind. For the best diligent practitioner, dreams dissolve into the space and are interrupted. For the intermediate, dreams appear as clear light. For the lowest, one knows that dreams are dreams. The signs appear on the three doors, and each of the four appearances has three, for a total of twelve. The sign of the manifestation of the nature of reality is that the body abides without action, movement, or shaking, like a turtle placed in a box. Speech is like a mute, unwilling to speak. The mind is like a bird caught in a net, appearing to fly, but actually being controlled. The sign of the increase of experiential awareness is that the body is like a person afflicted with illness, without grooming and adornment. Speech is like a madman, babbling nonsense. The mind is like a person poisoned by poison, determined not to return to the three realms. The sign of awareness reaching its limit is that the body, like an elephant sinking into the mud, becomes coarse in the five elements in an instant. Speech is like a fragment of a clay pot, whatever is said benefits others. The mind is like a person cured of leprosy, gaining the assurance of not returning to samsara. The sign of the exhaustion of the nature of reality is that the body is like a corpse in a cemetery, without fear or shame even when executioners surround it with knives. Speech is like a rock, the pairs of words are exhausted,

Please repeat after me. The mind, like a mist in the sky, in an instant, causes the accumulation of habits to disappear and attains perfection. Third, regarding establishing the nails of the three attainments: First, attaining autonomy over birth: By liberating the substantial body into light, if one dedicates awareness to one's own fingers for the benefit of sentient beings, then all appearances will self-return, and one will benefit sentient beings with forms like the moon in water. If awareness is injected into sentient beings such as humans, then even the commission of the five heinous crimes will be purified in this very essence and attain perfection. Second, attaining autonomy over entry: If one does not act for benefit, then by placing awareness in its own nature, one will attain perfection by disappearing into that very state. Third, attaining autonomy over wind and mind: By being able to use wind and mind, all the qualities of wind will arise. When other sentient beings transfer consciousness, if awareness is injected into them, then even the commission of the five heinous crimes will be purified and one will attain perfection together with oneself, due to the key point of there being no good or bad karma. Thus, one will be able to pass through inanimate objects unimpeded, and unobstructed clairvoyance will arise. Fourth, regarding showing the degree of liberation of the four cushions: The two upper cushions are that even if one hears the qualities of the Three Jewels, one does not hope to attain them, nor does one have doubts about not attaining them, because one has realized that there is no Buddha other than one's own awareness. The two lower cushions are that even if one hears the suffering and lifespan of the six realms, one does not hope not to fall into samsara, nor does one have doubts about falling into samsara, because one knows that one's own awareness is primordially free from error, and therefore one is certain that there is no one who wanders in samsara. The necessity of these is that temporarily one can accomplish one's own benefit, and ultimately one can bring the higher realizations to completion. Thus, the instructions on the spontaneously accomplished Tögal have been explained. Fifth, explaining the concluding meaning of the instructions, there are five points: the practical instructions for practice, the conduct of spiritual friends, the transference of the path's interruptions and connections, the manner of liberation through practice, and the classification and collection of instructions. The first point is: Those who wish to enter this profound path should, during the preliminary practices, strive as much as possible to generate signs in each individual and to accumulate merit, purify obscurations, and other profound methods. In the generation stage, until stable clarity is attained, meditation should be the main focus, and after clarity is attained, the number of recitations should be completed.
