M! When one is in a dangerous situation, and one's life and possessions are interrupted by ruthless robbers who kill and plunder, one should earnestly pray to me with one-pointedness, reciting: Om Maha Tha Mi Chom Rkun Chings Chings Om, Great, ..., Bind Bind). Take the hair of a widow and twist it into four strands of rope, each a fathom long. Tie it into a great vajra knot, and visualize it as a great stupa. From the heart, draw four rays of light like iron hooks, enter into it, and close the doors. Tighten the knot with one hundred and eight recitations of the mantra. Visualize sealing it with a stamp of vajra powder made from eye ashes. With the four mudras of hook, lasso, chain, and bell, perform the actions of attracting, binding, confining, and intoxicating. Visualize four gatekeepers, male and female, surrounding the guru. One should earnestly practice the binding of robbers with iron chains. Athi! (8) O noble son, if in the degenerate age, due to the power of desire, you encounter fierce executioners, visualize yourself as being within a vajra-protected tent, unbreakable, indestructible, true, and firm. Earnestly engage in the yoga of supplication through my prayer. Then, the encirclement by executioners and the stabbing with sharp weapons will cause those executioners to be deluded by other appearances and become frightened, and the weapons will be scattered in all directions. The mantra is my prayer itself. Vajra Protect Protect Hum), and also earnestly practice the mantras and instructions of the eight armors. Athi! (9) O noble son, if you live to be a hundred years old, or if your life force is exhausted and you are about to die, earnestly pray to me and remember the place where you dwell as having the qualities of Sukhavati (the Pure Land of Amitabha). Visualize yourself as inseparable from Buddha Amitabha, surrounded by buddhas, bodhisattvas, and noble beings. In the heart of (Amitabha) is a red drop radiating five lights, clear and bright, in the center of which there is no discomfort. Your own mind abides in the red drop, and your body dissolves into red light, merging into it. Visualize that when the breath goes out, it becomes an offering and a prayer; when it comes in, visualize it as purifying obscurations and bestowing blessings. Finally, visualize the mind of the main deity merging with your own mind. At times, listen to the words of the Sukhavati Sutra and practice the coming and going of breath with a joyful mind of going there. When falling asleep

I shall pray with a yearning heart even when I am asleep. At that time, without the intense feeling of cutting off and without suffering, there is no doubt or hesitation that one will be born in the Pure Land of Sukhavati with a mind free from suffering. A thi. (10) Son of the gods, if the illusory body borrows the four elements, no matter how long it lives, when the elements dissolve back into their own places, earth dissolves into water, water into fire, fire into wind, wind into consciousness, and consciousness enters into clear light, then abide in a state like the appearance of a clear sky, and in the very first bardo of the clear light of reality, attain enlightenment. If the appearances of sound, light, and rays arise, recognize that all are spontaneously arising wisdom, the four kayas free from elaboration naturally arising, and blend samatha and vipassana. At that time, when chased by the Lord of Death of karma due to bad habitual tendencies, and when struck by weapons, and when exhausted and endangered by the appearances of fleeing and chasing, take refuge in my prayer yoga with intense diligence, and pray by blending with my body, speech, and mind, I know all the actions and activities of sentient beings in the bardo unobstructed in the three times, and realize them in the state of equality, the great seal, and through the auspicious coincidence of gaining stability, there is no doubt that the illusions of the bardo will be liberated in their own place, so be diligent in my five bardos. It is also important to recite the seven lines of the bardo. A thi. (11) O son of the gods, bodhisattva of the gods, due to the power of karma and conditions, all beings experience the suffering of illusory appearances that are untrue, like being attached to reflections in water. Without doubt or hesitation, cherish my prayer diligently. Children, receive this instruction for the self-liberation of suffering in this way: I have attained the body of great bliss wisdom, and am no different from all the Tathagatas, benefiting beings, and am the Dharma King. Therefore, when I pray to me with one-pointedness, from the power of the blessing of the wisdom of my mind, becoming one with the mind of the one who prays, cutting off all suffering and illusion, the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-thought arises, and that is purified in the nature of self-awareness. Realize that all of that is one spontaneously arising wisdom. By becoming accustomed and familiar with that, all appearances and mind
