Guided by the eight paths that accomplish deeds, one will reach the desired destination. Athi! (5) Son of the gods, if you happen to travel to the land of great snow mountains or the hidden lands of the south, and you encounter a tiger, leopard, bear, brown bear, poisonous snake, large bee, crocodile, monkey, ape, dog, or a ferocious creature with terrifying fangs that threatens to take your life, or if you are in danger on a mountain, lake, cliff, turbulent waters, dense forest, or if snow or heavy rain blocks your path and threatens your life, then cherish and diligently pray to me. At that time, on a large drum, hand drum, conch shell, cymbals, and other instruments, visualize me as uttering the roar of a lion, and fulfill the offerings with tsok and torma. Furthermore, visualize me as the glorious hero Hayagriva, with my head touching Brahma and my feet touching Maheshvara, and with three fierce horse neighs from the crown of my head, subdue the arrogant and suppress them under my command. Visualize the assembly of retinue heroes, great ging, and hundreds of thousands of lesser ging gathering. Recite the prayer mantra: Hrih! (6) Son of the gods, if there is an earthquake or violent shaking, or if a great flood overflows and the waves are turbulent, or if you are caught in a fire, or if you are carried away by a great wind and your body and mind are in danger, then cherish and diligently pray to me. At that time, visualize me as the great and powerful Vajrapani, with the strength of the retinue of wrathful deities, vajra kilayas, and so on.
