O! At that time, calm abiding is like an ocean unmoved by the wind. The mind being without thought and unmoving, that is the basic state of calm abiding. Remaining in that state, experiencing emptiness and non-attachment, that is the path or characteristic of calm abiding. Then, calm abiding and insight are connected, and even during activities, awareness remains effortlessly present. Walking clearly or calmly without thought, that is the fruit or essence of calm abiding. Therefore, most great meditators consider meditation based on this foundation to be combined with the wisdom of insight. Because it is possible to generate a state that is slightly non-distracted and without flaws. Greet the signs, merits, and methods of guiding the path with the guru's experience. On this basis, introduce insight. The introductions of not clinging to abiding and not seeing movement and thoughts as faults are clearly explained in the guru's experience and the texts of meaning instruction, as well as related teachings, so introduce them well in order to calculate flawlessness. Then, cultivate the flawless state as a practice. First, adopt the perspective of a Shravaka. Unify the three points of the seven-point posture—the essence of the body, the tip of the eyes, the tip of the nose, and the tip of the mind—and rest clearly and emptily. Then, the perspective of a Bodhisattva is. The body posture remains the same, and the eyes gaze directly into space, meditating clearly, openly, brightly, and purely. Then, the perspective of a Wrathful Deity is. Raise the neck and, in the space between the eyebrows, intensify awareness and meditate loudly and clearly. Do these three for one or two days each, as you wish. Furthermore, the method of subsequent cultivation is. If awareness is dull, then intensify awareness through the perspective of a Wrathful Deity, so that subtle and coarse thoughts are cut off, like clouds clearing in the sky. If scattered or floating, then through the perspective of a Bodhisattva, let movement dissolve into its own nature, like snow falling on the ocean. If agitated or rough, then through the perspective of a Shravaka, understand the essence of whatever arises as like meeting someone you knew before. Introduce any arising encounter as the play of the Dharmakaya through the guru's experience. Meditating in this way, the state of nature is like a clear autumn sky, free from elaboration. Word.
