Do not do. Do not have doubts about whether this is meditation or not. Keep the body straight and relaxed, and let the mind look at the mind and abide. Even though no form, color, or object can be seen, it is not emptiness where nothing exists. In the realm of mind, there is something to be known and experienced, which is called like a mute person tasting molasses. In one's own mind realm, there is something to be seen, which cannot be expressed in words, so it is called inexpressible, unthinkable, and unutterable. That has no form, color, or object, so it is called emptiness. If that is known, because it is the best of what is to be known, it is called Prajnaparamita. The mind is separated from the extremes of existence and non-existence, so it is the Great Madhyamaka. All of samsara and nirvana cannot transcend it, so it is the Great Seal. All dharmas are included in it without exception, so it is the Great Perfection. That is naturally inherent, so it is the co-emergent wisdom. From the Naked Awareness Direct Seeing, it says: Emaho! What is called mind is clear and distinct. It exists, but it is not even one existence. It arises, but it arises various things such as samsara, nirvana, suffering, and happiness. It desires, but it desires like the eleven vehicles. Names, it has established various inconceivable names. Some call it mind-essence. Some non-Buddhists call it self. Hearers call it the selflessness of the person. Mind-Only school calls it mind. Some call it Madhyamaka. Some call it Prajnaparamita. Some call it the Tathagatagarbha. Some call it the Great Seal. Some call it ordinary awareness. Some call it the single bindu. Some call it the Dharmadhatu. Some call it the Alaya-vijnana. If this is directly pointed out with a finger, then, past thoughts, upon the traceless disappearance. Future thoughts, at the time of non-arising. Now, at the time of un fabricated, natural abiding. On the ordinary, natural state of awareness. When one looks at oneself nakedly. In the vastness where nothing can be seen by looking. Awareness nakedly, clearly. In the emptiness and spaciousness of nothing established. In the indivisibility of clarity and emptiness, naturally so. Not permanent, nothing is established. Not annihilation, spacious and clear. Not one, knowing and clear in many ways. Not become many, undifferentiated, one taste.

Therefore, it is not elsewhere, it is this very mind of one's own. In reality, the introduction to the meaning of the abiding state is that this is complete with the essence of the three bodies (Trikaya). Nothing is established, emptiness is the Dharmakaya (Tibetan: ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྐུ།). The self-radiance of emptiness is the Sambhogakaya (Tibetan: ལོངས་སྐུ།). Unobstructed, whatever arises is the Nirmanakaya (Tibetan: སྤྲུལ་སྐུ།). One's own mind is complete in one, is the essence. If one points a finger and forcefully introduces this, it is this very awareness of oneself now. Uncontrived, self-luminous is this. If one does not realize the nature of mind, what is it called doing? For this, there is nothing to meditate on, if meditation does not arise, what is it called doing? Awareness manifest is this, if one does not find one's own mind, what is it called doing? Clear awareness without interruption is this, if one does not see the face of mind, what is it called doing? He who thinks with the mind is oneself, if one searches but does not find, what is it called doing? For this, there is nothing to do, if one does but does not accomplish, what is it called doing? Uncontrived, it is enough to rest in its own place, if one cannot abide, what is it called doing? Without doing, it is enough to rest still, if one is unable to do this, what is it called doing? Clear awareness and emptiness, spontaneously accomplished without separation, if it is accomplished or not accomplished, what is it called doing? Without cause or condition, self-arisen spontaneously accomplished, if one strives but is unable to, what is it called doing? Thoughts arise and liberate simultaneously, if the antidote does not arise, what is it called doing? The present awareness is this, if one does not know this, what is it called doing? The nature of mind is emptiness, it is certain to be without foundation. One's own mind is without substance, like empty space. Whether it is like it or not, look at your own mind. Emptiness is not like a cliff, it is certain that self-arisen wisdom is primordially clear. Self-arisen, self-luminous, like the essence of the sun. Whether it is like it or not, look at your own mind. Awareness and wisdom are certain to be without interruption. Awareness without interruption is like a river. Whether it is like it or not, look at your own mind. Discursive thoughts, flowing thoughts, are certain to be without grasping. Flowing without substance, like hailstones. Whether it is like it or not, look at your own mind. As it is said, without any object to meditate on, the mind looking at the mind and abiding, this is guarding the essence of Mahamudra, it is the practice of Dzogchen Trekchö. If one can practice this for a time equal to death, at the moment of death when the outer breath ceases, one will recognize the clear light of the base, and then
