Having escaped from the hell of hatred, generate fervent faith, thinking that you have received the empowerment of the Vajra family of mind. Hūṃ! In the vase of Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri, reside the deities of the peaceful and wrathful ones. By empowering you, the fortunate one, after cutting off the gate of rebirth in hell, may you be free from the suffering of Naraka! Place the vase on the head. Hand over the fire-water chakra. Hūṃ! The fire-water that protects from heat and cold is endowed with coolness and warmth. By empowering the fortunate son of the family, having been liberated from the suffering of heat and cold in hell, may you be free from the suffering of Naraka! Du da ha da ha sarva naraka gate hetun hūṃ phaṭ! Pour the vase water. Recite the hundred-syllable mantra of Vajrasattva, such as Hūṃ Vajrasattva samaya, etc. Hūṃ Vajra abhiṣiñca āḥ! Fortunate one, by empowering you with the vase of five medicines and fire-water, all the seeds of karmic obscurations, along with the imprints, aroused by the afflictive emotion of hatred, are purified and cleansed. Having cut off the gate of rebirth as a sentient being in the great hell, and having been liberated from the faults of the five poisons, having opened the gate of the Akaniṣṭha pure land in the center, having received the empowerment of the five families of mind Vajrasattva, having gained dominion over the pure land of the Vajra family of Buddhas, may you effortlessly accomplish the benefit of sentient beings! Hūṃ! From the four gates of the great spontaneously accomplished palace, open the gate of great wisdom! Bhrūṃ praveśaya phaṭ! Thus, open the gate and hand over the vajra. Hūṃ! What is auspicious from the center? Vajrasattva, the auspicious deity. That auspiciousness that accomplishes peace, may auspiciousness be upon those assembled here! Thus, recite auspicious words, scatter flowers, and play music, and so on for the following ones as well. Second, for the purpose of requesting the empowerment to liberate from the state of pretas, etc., as above. Alas, kyi hud, may the Protector protect me with compassion and union! Liberate my body and establish it in bliss! I pray that the Protector quickly save me! Recite three times. Pick up the western vase. Oh, son of the family, this western vase is the vase of five fragrances, in which reside the deities of the five families of Amitābha Buddha.
