By practicing with objects of uncertain size, the palace, even if the size of a mustard seed, will not become larger, and meditating on the deities of the three thousand great thousand worlds will not become smaller, without the fault of being narrow or unsuitable. Similarly, the support of the three thousand great thousand worlds will not become smaller, and the deities the size of mustard seeds will not become larger, without the fault of size, being suitable, etc. No matter how you meditate, with a samadhi like brandishing a spear in the sky, transform all appearances into the play of divine forms, and by enhancing this skillful appearance, purify all impure karmic appearances, and strive to transform all of this into the samadhi of pure divine forms. In this way, there are four contemplation methods for learning to be attached to divine appearances. For those who are attached to various different forms, it is not absolutely necessary to follow this order, and it is permissible to start from where the mind is easy to grasp. However, if you have not previously grasped the experience of samadhi, then you should first focus on the attachment to forms, and in this way, single-mindedly focus on the clear appearance of the divine form, thereby achieving calm abiding. At that time, also pay attention to the faults of meditation. If thoughts arise like lightning, then completely cut them off; if thoughts flow continuously like a stream, then release awareness from the eye socket; if desires distract the mind, then contemplate the faults; if you feel tired and discouraged from practice, then contemplate the benefits of samadhi, thereby generating joy, etc., immediately eliminate the faults and practice. When focusing on the clear appearance of the divine form, maintain focus by doing many short sessions, without changing the object. For about seven days, gradually increase the length of the sessions each day, and during breaks, try to maintain the clear appearance of the divine form as much as possible. Similarly, for seven days, gradually shorten the length of the sessions, and during breaks, maintain the clear appearance without separation, etc., adjust the length of the sessions according to your own condition. If you are agitated and distracted, keep your gaze lowered and relax naturally. Also, suppress awareness downwards and relax the mind. Rely on nutritious and slightly more food, and sit in a lower or warmer place. Conversely, if you are drowsy, focus your gaze, increase the alertness of awareness, raise awareness, and look up at the sky. Eliminate it by eating cool and less food, and sitting in a high and cool open space. In general, for distraction and drowsiness, contemplate death, impermanence, and the suffering of samsara.

Thinking about the suffering of change, generate renunciation, and repeatedly contemplate that there is absolutely no need (for samsara). For pleasing objects of focus such as painted Buddha images, focus the mind and rest for a short while. Then, without looking at it, relax awareness and abide, which can dispel (agitation). For dullness, recall the many extraordinary biographies of past accomplished masters and generate joy. Focus on each part of the deity's form one by one, and meditate by repeatedly shifting the object of focus, which will definitely dispel (dullness). If you abide in a state without dullness or agitation, then do not modify it, but maintain it as it is. Also, if the experience is good in the first session or at the beginning of a session, and bad in the later session or at the end of a session, like a pond with depleted water, it is because the body's energy is insufficient. Therefore, nourish the body, relax, and then meditate. If the experience is bad in the first session or at the beginning of a session, and good in the later session or at the end of a session, like a canal that has not drawn water, it is because the effort is insufficient. Therefore, withdraw awareness from distraction and place consciousness in focus, and then meditate. These points should also be understood in the following content. By striving in this way, you can gradually recognize and guide the practice of the five experiences of gaining movement, stability, habituation, and firmness, as well as the signs of warmth, outer, inner, and secret. Secondly, regarding the mantra guidance of speech recitation, there are three types: the coarse breath recitation, the subtle vajra recitation, and if you are tired of these, then learn verbal recitation. The first is: "The second is of the wisdom heart-essence, hold the Samadhi on Hūṃ without distraction, perform the union, bind the breath, and recite mentally." As it is said. The body posture is as before, with the legs in vajra posture or any comfortable posture, the hands in meditation mudra or arms extended, fists placed on the thighs, whichever is comfortable. Visualize yourself clearly as the deity, in the space surrounded by five-colored light at your heart, a wisdom being identical to yourself residing on a moon. At its heart, visualize a white five-pronged vajra, with a white, clear, and blazing (ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体: हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable standing upright at its center. Once it is clear and stable like this, focus your mind on it single-pointedly. Exhale slowly and deeply three times. Then, gently and moderately inhale the upper breath and press it below the navel. Also slightly contract the lower breath, gently bind the breath, and mentally recite (oṃ vajrasattva ā,藏文:ༀ་བཛྲ་སཏྭ་ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体: ॐ वज्रसत्त्व आ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ vajrasattva ā,汉语字面意思:嗡 班匝萨埵 阿). In this way, hold the breath without discomfort until you feel slightly uncomfortable. Then, exhale vigorously from both nostrils, starting with just enough force to not move a feather, gradually increasing the force in the middle, and finally releasing it with a whoosh.
