Therefore, various excellent activities are accomplished. Likewise, hand seals, body ornaments, and other treasure items can also be combined as appropriate. In one discourse, it is said that among most treasure items, the nectar-like substances that liberate upon tasting are considered the most excellent. People in the degenerate age have little diligence and meager merit, making it difficult to achieve any accomplishment. The treasures that liberate upon tasting are those that have been previously accomplished with signs by masters such as Guru Rinpoche and others who have attained the supreme state of vidyadharas, as described in the tantras. Therefore, when one consumes them, it is like being intoxicated by alcohol, fainting from Datura, or having one's eyes deceived by henbane. Without relying on internal energy, the substance itself possesses unique power, involuntarily blessing the channels, elements, wind, and mind, and endowing one with the supreme fortune of accomplishment. The greatness of the skillful means of mantra is inconceivable. Some treasure teachings, even when practiced, may produce inverted results and inauspicious circumstances. The reason for this is that, in general, there are false treasures, and in particular, demonic ministers with perverted aspirations impersonating treasure revealers, as well as certain spirits supporting them impersonating treasure protectors, and also forged treasure documents arising from their deception. It is said that there are also counterfeit texts. Such things only lead to the wrong path, and no matter how one recites or meditates, they will only turn the rudder downwards. However, if it is a genuine treasure teaching of Guru, the embodiment of the Buddhas of the three times, then even if unpleasant things occur immediately upon practicing it, it will undoubtedly be connected to great meaning in the future, because the way the activities of the Buddhas unfold is inconceivable. However, Guru Rinpoche hid treasures solely for the purpose of bringing about accomplishment for future followers, and it is impossible that he would bless them to cause inauspicious results. Therefore, the independent activity of that Dharma is definitely auspicious and powerfully blessed.
