Rays of light emanated and dissolved into the gods, and heavenly servants rained down flowers and the like. From the immaculate biography of the master Padmasambhava: Chapter Eleven, concerning the lord sovereign king and the master Padma building glorious Samye and performing the consecration. Then, the master Padmasambhava and the master Bodhisattva, intending to go to India, requested the sovereign: "The king Trisong Detsen, born in the central region of Tibet, the Khenpo Bodhisattva who came from Zahor, and Padmasambhava who came from Ugyen, these three, in a previous lifetime, in the land of Magadha, were born as three Mon brothers. They built a stupa and made aspirations. As their respective rebirths matured, Bodhisattva was born as a Brahmin, the king was born into the lineage of a sage, and I was born as a small insect. These three gathered at the same time, and before that stupa, offered great offerings, and made these individual aspirations: The aspiration of the sage's son was: In my future life, in the snowy land of Tibet, may I be born as a Dharma-protecting king and establish the Buddha's teachings. Having made this aspiration, he is now born as a Dharma-protecting king. The aspiration of the Brahmin's son was: May I become a learned Pandit, skilled in the five sciences, and aspire to be a teacher in order to establish the Buddha's teachings. Now I am Bodhisattva. The aspiration of the small insect's son was: May I become a mantra holder with power and strength, and protect the king's teachings. Having made this aspiration, I fulfill the king's wishes. Due to the strength of the aspirations, Zahor, Ugyen, and Tibet, although born separately, in Tibet, they became master, disciple, and patron. This Samye, the king's heart's desire, was founded in the year of the Tiger, completed in the year of the Horse, and established in five years. Obstacles were pacified, and Samye was spontaneously completed, fulfilling the king's wishes. Khenpo Bodhisattva and I, Ugyen Padmasambhava, request to go to India." Having said this, the king filled silver spoons with a 'bre' each of gold dust for the two masters, and offered many worldly gifts, and prostrated.
