Alas, weary of those who quarrel! I will go to the land of India. Without mixing meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment, experience only on the basis of understanding. I do not get along with the meditators of Tibet. Alas, weary of those who only practice shamatha! I will go to the land of India. Without keeping pure vows, they chant Mahayana tantra as Bon. I do not get along with the tantrikas of Tibet. Alas, weary of those who break their vows! I will go to the land of India. Without possessing the view, practice, and meaning of Dharma, they deceive themselves with empty talk and lies. I do not get along with the yogis of Tibet. Alas, weary of those who quarrel! I will go to the land of India. Without mixing worldly dharma and divine dharma, they cast Dharma and politics into the water due to evil thoughts. I do not get along with the officials of Tibet. Alas, weary of those with evil thoughts and wrong intentions! I will go to the land of India. Without giving alms impartially, they accumulate the cause of being reborn as pretas due to stinginess. I do not get along with the patrons of Tibet! Alas, weary of those who deceive and obstruct! I will go to the land of India. Without mixing faith and compassion, they chase after superficial things with false faith. I do not get along with the matchmakers of Tibet! Alas, weary of those who are fickle! I will go to the land of India! You disciples of Tibet, please stay as you are comfortable! I will go to the land of the Rakshasas. From now on, I pray for future meetings! Thus he spoke. Then, all the disciples, lords, and subjects of Tibet became disgusted with themselves, their hearts filled with pain, their faces covered with tears, and their hearts filled with anger. All prostrated like collapsing walls, raised their feet to their heads, and grabbed his robes, pleading: Great master! If you go to the land of India, there will be no one to cut off internal and external disputes. Before, during the king's reign, you showed great kindness, and now, please have compassion on the lords and subjects of Tibet! Please stay no matter what! Thus they pleaded. The master said: I have already made the Dharma flourish and expand during the king's reign. You, the subsequent lords and subjects, should also protect the Dharma as we, the patrons, do! The reason I am going to India is not to cut off internal and external disputes, but because the Rakshasa Kha-phyur has appeared in Lanka-puri, the land of the Rakshasas. If he is not subdued, he will devour the people of Jambudvipa, so I am going to subdue him.

When I landed on the ground, I said I was going to subdue the Rakshasas, and I sang this song: Lama who blesses with grace, Yidam deity who grants accomplishments, Dakini who removes obstacles, I pray to you, please bless me! I am Orgyen Padmasambhava, Born from a lotus in the lake, Untainted by the impurities of the womb, A particularly excellent place of birth. First, in the realm of Orgyen, I became the prince of Indrabodhi, Transformed the kingdom into the sacred Dharma. In the middle, in the land of India, I relied on all the wise and accomplished masters, I diligently studied, contemplated, and meditated, I gained control over meaning, energy, and mind. Finally, I came to the land of Tibet, I subdued all the arrogant beings of the world, I fulfilled the wishes of the sovereign, I brought the maturation and liberation of disciples to the end. Now is the time of the five degenerations, The end of the age of strife, In general, all sentient beings of the three realms, Few enter the path without error, They are controlled by the demons of wrong views. Especially those who take the lives of beings, And lead them to the suffering of bad rebirths. In the southwest Rakshasa continent, The wrathful Rakshasas control the helm, There is no one but me who has the ability to subdue them. My own body has transformed into a vajra body, I have attained the Vidyadhara of yoga life, My speech has attained the accomplishment of secret mantra Dharma, Power and ability are perfectly complete, My mind has realized the intention of the Buddhas of the three times, The nature of non-duality has become manifest. For the sake of the six kinds of sentient beings of the present time, To give the gift of fearlessness, I will go to subdue the Rakshasas of the southwest. With loving-kindness, compassion, and bodhichitta, With skillful means, I will subdue the flesh-eating Rakshasas with wrong views, And place them in the Dharma. I will place all in the Buddha's pure land, I will place them in both bliss and goodness. You, the lords, subjects, and disciples of Tibet, May you dwell in well-being of body and mind for a long time! I have attained the body without birth or death, So I have no death or change. My body has gained control over the four elements, So there is no suffering of discomfort or illness. I have gained control over loving-kindness and compassion, So I have no weariness in doing the benefit of others. I have gained control over Dharma, energy, and mind, So there is no obstruction to the four activities. You lords, subjects, and disciples who dwell here, Pray with faith, respect, and devotion! I will also seize you with the iron hook of compassion, And pour out devotion.
