It is said that at that time, it would be the time when the Buddha's teachings would decline. It is said that at that time, an Arhat named Depa would appear with five hundred attendants. One named the Three Baskets Scholar would appear with one hundred attendants. The two of them, one saying, "Because I am a scholar, I should perform the Uposatha," and the other saying, "Because I am an Arhat, I should perform the Uposatha," thus they would not be in harmony. The attendants would argue with each other, and not even one monk would come. At that time, a king named Army Red would appear, possessing faith. He would be saddened by the lack of a Sangha. He would lie face down on the ground, unable to rise. At that time, because the Buddha's teachings would be declining, even shaving the head would not be possible, and yellow robes would not be worn. A wise minister would shave his head and wear a red bull's hide. The minister would say, "Great King, please rise and make offerings to the lamas." The king would think, "They are renunciates," and look, seeing shaved heads and people wearing red bull hides. He would think, "Now the Buddha's teachings have declined." The king would die of sorrow and be reborn in the Heaven of the Thirty-Three. After that, the teachings of this emanation would not appear. Those were spoken considering the limited teachings of the emanation body. The qualities and activities of the Buddha, as long as samsara is not empty, will be generated by aspiration. Therefore, the Buddha will not pass into nirvana, the Dharma will not decline, and the Sangha Jewel will not be interrupted. From "The Great Vehicle's Method of the Ambrosia Army for Clearing Obstacles," the seventeenth chapter, which explains the fruit of a cycle of aspirations. Now, the immeasurable commitment to entering the cause will be taught. Entering the mind of enlightenment also has three aspects: the aspiration to enter, the entering of entering, and the ultimate meaning of entering. The Buddha enjoys for countless eons, and the first aspiration to enter, which arises from immeasurable great compassion, is: May all sentient beings who are unhappy become happy, may those who are not liberated be liberated, may those who have not breathed breathe, and may those who have not completely passed from suffering completely pass from suffering. That is the immeasurable aspiration to enter. Then, one might wonder, what is the difference between this and the aspiration of aspiration?

The aspiration of aspiration is to wish to become a solitary Buddha like the one with limitations. At the time of not taking the intermediate vows, (thinking) Shakyamuni Buddha, Shakya Simha, Shakya King, the Lord of the Teaching, after he renounced, may I also renounce, such an aspiration is a limited aspiration. This is said to be the immeasurable aspiration of entering (the path). These two are different. The former does not aspire for all sentient beings to attain Buddhahood, but aspires for oneself alone to attain such Buddhahood. The aspiration of entering (the path) is to aspire for all sentient beings to attain Buddhahood. Because it is for all sentient beings, it is immeasurable. Now, the entering of entering (the path) is, for this purpose, the discipline of benefiting sentient beings, and all virtuous deeds, the six perfections, etc., everything done by all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, until samsara is empty, these three, body, speech, and mind, are used for virtue without even a moment of negligence. The result of this is the arising of the true and complete enjoyment body of entering (the path). Even if one body can benefit sentient beings equal to space, it can still manifest there, the secret of the body is inconceivable. The divine craftsman Vishvakarman wanted to measure Shakya's body, starting from the toe with a jewel thread, aligning it with the crown of the head, but the crown of the head rose, rising to the Buddha land above, and because the crown of the head could not be seen, it could not be measured. Subduing with many bodies is also, with the inexhaustible body, the wheel of ornaments, in accordance with the thoughts of sentient beings, manifesting many bodies. For example, one sun, if each sentient being holds a water vessel, then one sun will appear in it. Without a water vessel, the sun will not appear. Without faith, one cannot see the Buddha. Dharma Lord Gampopa once manifested three bodies at the same time and performed three consecrations. Dharma Lord Phagmo Drupa offered a mandala and asked, "Is it manifesting three bodies?" Geshe Khampa said, "I can manifest hundreds of bodies in front of each sentient being." (Dharma Lord Drigung once manifested four bodies at the same time.) Subduing with characteristics, manifesting as Vairochana Buddha, thereby introducing wisdom.
