Just as it exists, the Tathagata's wisdom vision, the ten powers and ten perfections, and the four fearlessnesses are perfectly and completely understood; whoever understands that all dharmas are manifestly accomplished in the ultimate truth; whoever turns the wheel of Dharma, holds the lamp of Dharma, beats the drum of Dharma, blows the conch of Dharma, rains down the rain of Dharma, makes offerings of Dharma, and satisfies all sentient beings with the giving of Dharma; and those powers and teachings of Dharma. Thus, in brief, what are the roots of virtue of the Buddhas' dharmas, or those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who prophesy to the Bodhisattvas that they will attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? What are the roots of virtue that possess the six perfections? What are the roots of virtue of those individuals of the Pratyekabuddha vehicle who are prophesied to attain Pratyekabuddha enlightenment? What are the roots of virtue of the individuals of the Shravaka vehicle? What are the roots of virtue of the learners who have defilements? What are the roots of virtue of the non-learners who are without defilements? In brief, the virtue of the Buddha's retinue, the two parents of monks, the two parents of lay practitioners, the four assemblies, and those who individually generate roots of virtue in that Dharma; and the gods, nagas, yakshas, garudas, gandharvas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans and non-humans of those Buddhas; and the roots of virtue of those who have gone to the animal realm; and those who generate roots of virtue when the Buddha has not passed away into nirvana; and those who generate roots of virtue after the Buddha has passed away into nirvana; and those who generate roots of virtue by relying on the Buddha, relying on the Dharma, and relying on the Sangha; and the virtue of those past Buddhas and so forth; and the virtue of those future Buddhas and so forth; and all the objects of merit arising from giving, the objects of merit arising from morality, and the objects of merit arising from meditation of those present Buddhas and so forth.

Having completely gathered and summarized all the roots of virtue, such as the objects of performing merit, without exception, and after measuring them, subsequently, with the objects of performing merit endowed with the supreme and sacred joy, may I dedicate them to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings. May it be completely gathered into the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. When saying this, other individuals, Bodhisattvas, and whatever objects, whatever aspects, whatever aspects, and whatever objects of focus are rejoiced in, and the objects of the initial generation of the mind, and those objects of focus, and those aspects, are taken as signs, and later, without taking them as signs, or having done so, the Bodhisattva Maitreya said: Subhuti, those objects, and those objects of focus, and the way of taking them as signs, are not taken as signs later. Subhuti asked Maitreya: If one focuses on the fact that objects do not exist, and focuses on the fact that objects of focus do not exist, then it will become a reversed perception and a reversed mind. Why is that? Whatever is focused on, whatever is desired, attachment is an object that does not exist, because desire is to see permanence in impermanence, happiness in suffering, self in selflessness, and purity in impurity, and after thoroughly examining them, reversed perceptions, reversed minds, and reversed views arise. If one also focuses on Nirvana, then that itself is its great object of focus, but the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, do not say that the complete dedication with the thought of having an object of focus accomplishes great benefit. Why is that? Because dedication is like that, with poison, with thorns, for example, there is a good food with poison, although the color, smell, and taste are good, but because it is poisonous, it should be completely abandoned by the wise, it is not to be enjoyed. A person with the nature of a child, a person with the nature of scattered wisdom, thinks to enjoy it completely, eats that food, tastes the taste, and when it is digested, suffering matures for him, like he is dead. Subhuti, some people here misunderstand and teach like this, son of lineage, come here.
