It is said that was the reason. When asked what are the three aspects of devotion: view, meditation, and conduct? He replied: The view is the realization of Mahamudra, which is completely pure. Because the collection of cause and effect arises, the conduct is the completely pure precious discipline. The guru's devotion is also that. To make that and awareness inseparable is meditation. In Paramita, thinking of food, clothing, filth, bandages, and medicine in the same way, and in Secret Mantra, generating as the supreme deity and enjoying in the manner of offering, what is the difference between these two? He replied: There is a difference. In Paramita, thinking of filth, bandages, and medicine in the same way reverses attachment. In the Great Vehicle Secret Mantra, the method of accomplishing the three: pure vision, enjoyment, and activity, into Buddhahood is very skillful, so there is a difference. If the body is the supreme deity from the beginning, but one generates the perception of it as an impure substance, will there not be a downfall of slandering the Buddha's body? He replied: Remembering the body as an impure substance reverses the clinging to self, so it is a method of realizing selflessness. Selflessness is Buddha. If one clings to the supreme deity as self, then it is slandering the Buddha's body, and a root downfall will occur. Therefore, it is also said: If attachment arises towards the deity, it is the conduct of a hungry ghost; if hatred arises towards the deity, it is the cause of suffering in hell; if ignorance arises towards the deity, it is the dwelling place of an animal; if the deity becomes poison, everything is not virtuous. Therefore, guarding the deity is extremely important. If awareness grasps the clear light in the upper part, the channels reverse, and if it is in the lower part, one goes to sleep. What is the method to grasp the clear light and not reverse the channels? He replied: This was said during the instruction, grasping the clear light is achieved by being free from the extremes of tightening and loosening. To prevent the channels from reversing, remaining in the samadhi of Mahamudra for a long time is a profound key point. When performing the consecration, at the time of rising from the samadhi of the four immeasurables, it is said to scatter flowers. If one scatters flowers because of the power of the samadhi of compassion, will it appear harsh? He replied: At the time of consecration, it is important to be without jealousy. If there is no jealousy, the four immeasurables will arise in equanimity. All auspiciousness and well-being arise from immeasurable love, so it is profound. All the activities of the Thus-Gone One and

When asked, "What is missing?" The answer was, "Both of those are desired, but Jey Rinpoche considers them to be free from extremes." When asked, "What is the reason that the vajra in the hand of the Lord of Secrets cannot be held by anyone other than himself?" The answer was, "When the Thus-Gone-One was practicing the path, the Lord of Secrets was accomplished at the ears of the eight aggregates of consciousness. The ear is wind. The violent wind becomes a wrathful deity. What binds is wind. By gaining power over that, one can hold it. The vajra is unconditioned, and because it is blessed by all the Buddhas of the three times, that is the reason why others cannot hold it." When asked, "If it is determined to be male or female, and in the bardo, attachment and aversion arise separately, what is the reason for being born as a hermaphrodite?" The answer was, "It is because of accumulating the karma to be born as a hermaphrodite, and because the coarse attachment and aversion to being born as male or female have not arisen." When asked, "At the time of transference of consciousness, if one generates faith in the abode of Vajradhara, and while being born at his feet, directs one's aspiration to Sukhavati or the Pure Land of Manifest Joy, will one be born there?" The answer was, "One will certainly be born there, as aspiration alone is a distant cause. If considered from the perspective of the near cause, to be born there, view, meditation, and conduct must be in harmony. If one wishes to be born in Sukhavati, the view must be completely pure, and the conduct must be to accomplish all virtuous deeds, which is completely pure conduct. To constantly meditate on that, is completely pure meditation. Possessing these three, one will certainly be born in that pure land. Furthermore, if one wishes to attain Buddhahood, the view must be completely pure, and the conduct must be to accomplish all virtuous deeds and abandon all non-virtuous deeds, which is completely pure conduct. To abide single-pointedly in that continuum, is completely pure meditation. Possessing these three, one will certainly attain Buddhahood. Gonpo Phagmo Drupa said, 'When view, meditation, and conduct are one, the three kayas are continuous.' In short, it is the nature of thought. If view, meditation, and conduct are not one, view alone will not accomplish it. For example, the Tirthikas desire to be born as gods, which is the view. The conduct is to kill cows and offer them in front of the deity's image, and the meditation is to abide in that cause, thus desiring to be born as gods. However, because view, meditation, and conduct are not in harmony, it is impossible to be born as gods. After their death, they are reborn as cows, and are led by others to be circled around the deity's image and suffer the pain of being slaughtered.
