There is no samsara, and there is no nirvana. That which is without both is called non-duality. That is, to realize that all phenomena, emptiness, existence, non-existence, etc., are non-dual. And that realization must be cultivated in solitude. The necessity of solitude is that by staying in solitude and cultivating realization, one can understand cause and effect or dependent origination. This thought will give rise to this, and with this one can accomplish this. In terms of meaning, the ten dharmas become the key. This is what appears as the scriptures and spiritual friends through the Dharma eye of omniscient wisdom. Therefore, all the scriptures of the Tathagatas can be understood in one's own mind. Then, the appearance of dependent origination will be realized as emptiness. Furthermore, the precious Lord of the World said, in general, to practice the Great Vehicle Secret Mantra, one must have three kinds of examples: a lama like a boatman, a friend like a merchant, and instructions like a precious jewel. Among them, if there is a lama like a boatman, he will be skilled in knowing benefit, harm, what can be practiced, what should not be practiced, and the timing. If there is a Vajra brother and friend like a merchant, they will be of one mind and have the wisdom to strive in the same direction in meaning. Instructions like a precious jewel are the two samadhis of generation stage and completion stage, etc. If one strives to find ways to avoid whatever obstacles there are, one thing will be accomplished, and everything else will depend on it, and there will be nothing lacking. It is said that the scholar Gupa Jipa practiced without asking the lama, and as a result, he was kicked in the back by a blue-skinned woman and became a hunchback, and later his name was also called Hunchback Foot. Later, he confessed and was healed. When he was practicing in Oddiyana, there was a great famine at that time, and he saw many sentient beings dying. He could not bear it with great compassion, and in order to benefit them, he made a vow to visualize a single syllable BHRUM (Tibetan: བྷྲཱུྃ; Sanskrit Devanagari: भ्रूं; Sanskrit Romanization: bhrūṃ; Chinese literal meaning: seed syllable) in the sky. From that BHRUM (Tibetan: བྷྲཱུྃ; Sanskrit Devanagari: भ्रूं; Sanskrit Romanization: bhrūṃ; Chinese literal meaning: seed syllable) a great rain of grain fell, bringing happiness to sentient beings. It is now also known as the Auspicious Rice Heap.

And also, those previous sovereign kings, each cultivated a deity, and only after achieving that could they rule the entire kingdom. For example, the sovereign Songtsen Gampo achieved Avalokiteśvara, and the king was pleased to become a Chakravartin, and so on. For example, if a farmer cultivates the field well, later it can provide food and necessities for many people. Therefore, practice is very important, and practicing for the benefit of sentient beings is the most important. Therefore, one should be diligent and strive for teachings and instructions. Furthermore, the World Protector Rinpoche said that, in general, students should also examine the lama. The method of examination is that in all the tantric scriptures, countless qualities of the lama are mentioned. Regarding this, the venerable Phagmo Drupa said that if one is surrounded by a sangha of more than a hundred people, there is no need to examine him. The answer is that if the sangha is less than a hundred people, no matter what they do, they have no power. When it exceeds that number, everything will be accomplished. Whether one possesses qualities or not, whether one practices Dharma or not, it will be clear at that time. Therefore, it is difficult to fathom the thoughts of a qualified lama who can manage tens of thousands of sanghas. Although they previously resided in inconceivable places, it is uncertain what will happen now, whether they will do good or bad. This is because they have different guidance, teachings, and Dharma for different disciples. Therefore, it is called profound. It is vast because nothing is possible except for their great deeds. Therefore, one cannot say definitively, "This is it," it is impossible to grasp. Secondly, for the lama and all the retinue, their actions are the four activities. All of these are like the biography of the great lama Tsalpa, who would treat even enemies who came before them with hospitality. They would escort them until they were beyond the boundaries of their own territory. Just as the Tathagata said, do not kill messengers, and so on. Therefore, it is very important to do as the lama says. In short, the preliminary practice is bodhicitta, and the main practice is the holy lama's.
