The things that are produced, giving to sentient beings, guarding and increasing their purity. Thus it is said, guarding the body and possessions, and the roots of virtue accumulated and existing in the three times, increasing, guarding, and giving, guarding like the four purities. The Pratimoksha vow itself also abides in the nature of the Bodhicitta vow. The mantra vow eliminates the obscuration of knowledge. The subtlest clinging to self or ego can only be eliminated by the Great Vehicle tantra. In general, what is to be abandoned by the three vows are the three afflictions. That is, abandoning the clinging to self and what belongs to self. The three vows eliminate the three afflictions in a coarse and subtle manner. The ultimate thing to be abandoned, the obscuration of knowledge, also refers to eliminating the subtlest part of the three afflictions. Without the mantra vow, one cannot eliminate the obscuration of knowledge. The Pratimoksha vow and the Bodhisattva vow also abide in the mantra vow. In general, the three vows are the path, because all that is to be abandoned is abandoned by the three vows. They are also the fruit, because with the nature of the three vows, having attained enlightenment in unsurpassed Bodhi and achieved Buddhahood, the body, speech, and mind are inexhaustible, with the wheel of adornment, until samsara is empty, causing all sentient beings equal to space to have happiness, be free from suffering, and be placed in unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Among them, the Pratimoksha vow obtains the Nirmanakaya, the Bodhisattva vow obtains the Sambhogakaya, and the mantra vow obtains the Dharmakaya. In general, the Samadhi accomplished by the three vows is the emptiness of mind itself, unborn from the beginning. The three vows realize this. If this is not realized, holding the vows is meaningless. Realizing this depends on the protector of the world, therefore one should always be inseparable from the longing of devotion. That is, one needs the recognition of the Dharmakaya, which others cannot speak of, is co-emergent, cannot be found anywhere, relying on the guru until the end, and knowing from one's own merit. Thus it is said, the devotion to the end is the recognition of the Dharmakaya. Therefore, the guru's devotion and the three vows

Please diligently practice the samadhi accomplished by (someone), that is Dharma. Furthermore, the venerable Lama said, "In general, although the Dharma of the venerable Lord of the World (Jigten Sumgön) is inconceivable, all those appearances gather into one's own single mind. If further divided, there are two: one's own mind of samsara and one's own mind of nirvana. Moreover, the mind from the very beginning is unborn emptiness. However, by the power of grasping at conditions, the appearances of both samsara and nirvana also appear in that mind. Among these, one's own mind of samsara is: evil thoughts, afflicted thoughts, if one yields to the appearance of thoughts, being dominated by the thought of attachment, it is like a bhikshu, a master of the three pitakas, being attached to his begging bowl. If dominated by hatred, it is like King Ashoka. If dominated by ignorance, it is like the form of a makara fish. The objects of attachment, the objects of hatred, and the objects of delusion are all unborn emptiness from the very beginning, but because one does not realize this, the mind itself becomes attached to various things. Therefore, by clinging to attachment and aversion, one's own mind of samsara is accomplished just as one thinks. Good thoughts, thoughts of love and compassion, etc., also accomplish their appearance, like a maidservant being ordered about. One's own mind of nirvana is that the mind from the very beginning is unborn emptiness. The Shravakas desire their own peace, therefore they practice according to the Four Noble Truths, and it is accomplished just as they think. The Pratyekabuddhas, for their own benefit, practice the arising and ceasing of the twelve links of dependent origination, and it is accomplished just as they think. It is not the case that these two do not benefit sentient beings at all, because even the great Shravakas would not take their morning meal without first establishing five hundred sentient beings each on the three vehicles. Although the Pratyekabuddhas do not teach Dharma through speech, they do teach Dharma through their bodies. Bodhisattvas generate the mind of enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings equal to space, therefore it is accomplished just as they think. This is called one's own mind of nirvana. This is also the mind from the very beginning is unborn emptiness, but due to conditions...
