There are two types of Bodhicitta. That is, the relative Bodhicitta and the ultimate Bodhicitta are of one taste in emptiness, unborn from the beginning. As it is said in the sutra: "All dharmas are said to be of one meaning, and that one meaning is emptiness, in which there is no difference." When we are now meditating on the samadhi of the two types of Bodhicitta, we should not be attached to worldly pleasures, but should practice in such a deserted and quiet place, relying only on a small amount of food. What is the use of worldly pleasures? Like putting down grass in front of a tiger or leopard, one should not even crave worldly pleasures in dreams. Only then can one be said to have truly begun to practice, and one must reach this level. There is no need for the eight worldly dharmas or relatives. There is no such thing as relatives becoming enemies and enemies becoming relatives. Acharya Aryadeva once said, "Father becomes mother, etc.," this statement is not certain. Therefore, how can one commit evil deeds for the sake of relatives? When enjoying the ripening of karmic results, no one wants suffering. As it is said in the sutra: "You should not commit evil deeds for the sake of monks, Brahmins, gods, as well as guests, parents, children, and concubines, and retinues, no one wants the karmic result of hell." Therefore, there is no need to commit evil deeds for these. Furthermore, it is extremely foolish to commit evil deeds after obtaining a precious human body. As it is said in the sutra: "If someone uses a golden vessel or a container decorated with jewels to hold vomit, then someone who is born as a human being and commits evil deeds is the most foolish." In general, none of us will stay in this world for long. It is uncertain which will come first, tomorrow or death, so cut off worldly affairs completely and strive to cultivate the two types of Bodhicitta. Even in the Bardo state, one must rely on the two types of Bodhicitta to pass through. Therefore, in general, please strive to practice the Dharma. Furthermore, the venerable Lama said: "All the Dharma spoken by the Bhagavan, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, the entire subject matter

All (everything) beginning, middle, and end are considered virtuous, it is said. It is indeed so: virtuous in the beginning, middle, and end, the Buddhas of the past have said; the Buddhas of the future will also say so; the perfectly enlightened Buddhas who appear now also repeatedly proclaim this. If someone asks what should be done, (the answer is) the virtue that is in the beginning is also virtuous in the middle and the end; the non-virtue that is in the beginning is also non-virtuous in the middle and the end. Virtue cannot be transformed into non-virtue, and non-virtue cannot be transformed into virtue, this is the nature. If one asks what the meaning of nature is, it is that which cannot be transformed. For example, the sky cannot be transformed into anything, or the characteristics of the four elements cannot be transformed from what they are. This is the great view of the World Protector Rinpoche. The venerable one said that in the past, before the Buddhas had come into the world, the name of the Three Jewels did not exist, and no one knew good and evil, there was no fame, and even the methods of calculation had not been established, there were still some who, by chance due to karma, performed the ten virtues. This is virtuous in the beginning, so they obtained the auspiciousness, happiness, and perfect glory of this world. It is virtuous in the middle, so they obtained the perfections of gods and humans. It is virtuous in the end, so they become Buddhas in their own nature. Likewise, there are also some who perform the ten non-virtues. This is non-virtuous in the beginning, so this world encounters diseases, harms, suffering, evils, and various adversities. It is non-virtuous in the middle, so they fall into the three lower realms. It is non-virtuous in the end, so they wander endlessly in the ocean of suffering of the three realms of samsara, this is the nature. When the perfectly enlightened Buddha appears in the world, and the wisdom of the Tathagata, the wisdom that is unhindered and unattached to the three times, enters into observation, knowing good as good and non-virtue as non-virtue. Therefore, the precepts are established to practice virtue and attain happiness, and the precepts are established to abandon non-virtue and experience suffering, these precepts are established according to how nature exists in the world. In the praises to the Buddha it is also said: Knower of the world. If one asks how he knows the world, it is that he knows how the minds, actions, and the fruits of actions of virtue and non-virtue arise.
