Giving with... The precious giving is extremely vast. Having generated compassion, even the number of Ganges sands and rain cannot compare to the giving of verses. What need is there to mention thinking two or three times? (The Buddha) said. Thus, while temporarily engaging in the conduct of a Bodhisattva, in order to benefit sentient beings, wherever one benefits sentient beings, one must consciously take a perfect body. That is, Bodhisattvas from the first bhumi up to the seventh bhumi should generate the mind of enlightenment and abandon the desire to take birth anywhere. If one wishes to be born in the realm of Brahma, one should connect with the samadhi of love, compassion, or joy, and take birth there. One makes the sentient beings of the realm of Brahma abide in the three minds. For example, consciously approaching the three realms of evil destinies, if one is motivated by immeasurable great compassion, then by connecting with the cause that makes one be born in those places, and taking birth in those places, one makes those sentient beings abide in the three minds unconsciously. The Bodhisattva who has obtained mastery over the mind, who possesses mindfulness and awareness, when entering that place, also knows that I am a Bodhisattva named so-and-so, and that I enter, abide, and arise for the benefit of these sentient beings. Others think that Shravaka Arhats enter the six realms for the benefit of others with awareness, but abide and arise without awareness. Pratyekabuddhas enter and abide with awareness, but arise without awareness. Bodhisattvas think that all three are with awareness. The view of the Dharma King is that it depends on the length of meditation and whether or not one has obtained mastery over samadhi, not on the difference of vehicles. There is no need to fear having to abandon the seeds of habit and the desire to be born in the six realms. Bodhisattvas are those who have obtained mastery over afflictions, those who have obtained mastery over karma. By obtaining mastery over the various afflictions that tame the various beings to be tamed, they tame them. For example, when the Tathagata took birth as a Brahmin boy, the shaven-headed renunciates did not have enlightenment, unsurpassed...

It is said that enlightenment is difficult, so it is like practicing asceticism and subduing those to be tamed by it. Those who have gained mastery over karma, even if they themselves have committed deeds of immediate retribution, leading to falling into the lower realms in the next life, can, through skillful means, shorten the karma that would take hundreds of thousands of kalpas to ripen to just experiencing a shiver; or transform the karma that would need to be felt after hundreds of thousands of kalpas into just having a nightmare now. This is gaining mastery over karma. In general, wisdom should follow the Dharma, and the Dharma must be understood. If the Dharma is not understood, even if one follows wisdom, it is like wrapping good ingredients in coarse cloth. Other pure ones, that is, those from the eighth bhumi and above, who abide in the three pure bhumis, also want to consciously enter etc., following aspiration. The view of the Lord of Dharma is that those from the eighth bhumi and above, or those who have realized one taste, do not need the kind of aspiration that bodhisattvas below the seventh bhumi have. Because they have realized that all afflictions, conceptual thoughts, and the various red and white appearances that arise are unborn, that is, Mahamudra. The two types of bodhicitta—ultimate and relative—have become one, indivisible. As it is said: "The ultimate bodhicitta is the cessation of elaboration, the relative bodhicitta is the two of aspiration and action, moistened by compassion, like sesame and sesame oil, of one taste." The aspiration at this time is the relative bodhicitta of the mind at the time of first generating bodhicitta, and there is no need to abandon this single aspiration. The bodhisattva manifests in whatever form is able to tame beings. To tame a Buddha, they manifest as a Buddha; to tame shravakas and pratyekabuddhas, they manifest as shravakas and pratyekabuddhas. Similarly, wherever there are beings to be tamed, they manifest in whatever form is able to tame them, which demonstrates the inconceivable various deaths and rebirths. Accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings in just one day cannot even match one hundred thousandth of what bodhisattvas below the seventh bhumi have done for the benefit of sentient beings in countless kalpas. There is no difference in breadth and depth between a bodhisattva abiding in the three pure bhumis or a yogi who has realized one taste benefiting sentient beings, and a Buddha benefiting sentient beings. As it is said: "That unimpeded intelligent one, constantly engages in the benefit of sentient beings, bodhicitta."
