Just as it is the basis of everything, it is also the basis of dependent origination of samsara and nirvana. The Tathagata said in the Salu Ljangpa Sutra that dependent origination is unteachable, invisible, unspeakable, and beyond the object of speech. The meaning of this is that the noble teacher Nagarjuna said, "By what is dependent origination," etc., is free from the eight extremes of elaboration and is the proximate cause. The simultaneous condition is that the noble lama realizes and recognizes it. Realizing it is devotion to the noble lama, so one must have the perception of the lama as the Buddha. Do not have the wrong view of examining the lama's faults. Seeing faults is one's own fault. It is important to have devotion without thinking about the faults of friends, etc. One should rely on the lama like Norzang, and if the causes and conditions are complete, then all temporary and ultimate happiness will arise. The proximate cause is the nature of mind, which is emptiness from the beginning, covered by the reversed dependent origination of the three poisons of affliction, etc., thus accomplishing the ocean of suffering of samsara. According to the view of the Dharma Lord, the proximate cause is the nature of mind, which is unborn from the beginning, unborn by cause, indestructible by condition, permanent and stable, and it is believed that all imprints are placed on it. The Mind-Only school believes that self-awareness is the ultimate mind, self-aware and self-illuminating, like a lamp that is not moved by the wind, and believes that imprints are placed on a clear and bright state. The Madhyamaka school that practices Mind-Only says, "What is your ultimate? That is my conventional." After saying that, they believe that luminosity is mind. Mind is conventional, so they believe that luminosity itself is also emptiness, and they believe that all imprints are placed on it. Higher than that is the Yogachara Madhyamaka school, which believes that all phenomena included in samsara and nirvana are mind, and believes that mind is emptiness, and believes that imprints are placed on it. Higher than that is the Great Madhyamaka school, which, through discrimination and complete discrimination, does not consider all phenomena included in samsara and nirvana to be mind, nor does it consider them to be different from mind, but considers them to be emptiness, unborn from the beginning, and believes that imprints are placed on it. Even higher than that is the Great Seal.

I wish to place all habitual tendencies upon that which transcends the mind, like the expanse of space, encompassing all phenomena of samsara and nirvana. I wish to place habitual tendencies upon that which is even higher, whiter than the Great Perfection, like a snow mountain, considering all phenomena to be unborn, primordially enlightened. According to the Dharma Lord's view, all these views are grasped by the consciousness that grasps the object to be grasped, and because consciousness is impermanent, habitual tendencies cannot be placed upon it. These themselves are the places to put habitual tendencies. So, where should habitual tendencies be placed? I wish to place habitual tendencies upon the essence of the Tathagata, which is the naturally pure realm. For example, just as space is the basis for the arising, abiding, and ceasing of all containers and contents, the basis for the arising, abiding, and ceasing of all habitual tendencies is the nature of mind, which from the beginning is unborn emptiness. Indeed, it is as it says: "As all the worlds, arise and cease from space. Likewise, in the uncreated realm, the senses arise and cease." The basis of all habitual tendencies, the naturally pure realm, is equally present in all beings, as it says: "The perfect Buddha body is radiating light, and because the nature of reality is undifferentiated, and because there is the lineage, all sentient beings, always have the essence of the Buddha." Thus, placing habitual tendencies, from the conventional point of view, there are two: the proximate cause and the accompanying condition. The cause is the habitual tendencies of the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance from beginningless samsara. From the ultimate point of view, the proximate cause abides in that. The condition is the object of the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance. When encountering the condition, the latent habitual tendency arises. When the object and that mix together, the power of the habitual tendency increases, and attachment is practiced. Then, the mind of attachment blesses the body, and the body blesses the appearance, so that wherever one goes, one cannot find food, etc., and the appearance of a hungry ghost arises. Eventually, one will be born in the realm of hungry ghosts. The habitual tendencies of hatred and ignorance also arise when encountering the objects of hatred and ignorance. If one does not rely on the antidote, does not abandon
