Anger and ignorance are the doors of Dharma, and love and compassion, etc., are the doors of Dharma. Isn't each of these a state of calm abiding? Even so, it is necessary to remain single-pointedly for a long time. This also depends on the training of higher morality. The external physical discipline is such that one does not transgress even the tip of a hair from what the Buddha has prescribed. The internal mental discipline is to cut off the continuum of the three poisons in the mind. The secret discipline of the Great Vehicle Secret Mantra is that if one has this swirling nectar, then the mind without regret can remain single-pointedly in samadhi. If one does not abide in this, then when one abides in samadhi, the mind of regret cannot abide in samadhi. Therefore, one must be diligent in the precious discipline. The Blessed One spoke of eighty-four thousand doors of Dharma, but that was also spoken in summary. If one understands this, where is there anything that is not a door of Dharma? In general, if one encounters an accomplished yogi, a single introduction is sufficient for remaining single-pointedly in any samadhi. Acharya Aryadeva had Nagarjuna meditate on a tree growing on the top of a Bodhi tree, and thus he remained single-pointedly on it. Gaining stability, that is the samadhi of calm abiding. For that, it is sufficient for the teacher to give a single word of introduction. Later, there appeared a yogi who had attained accomplishment, known as Nagarjuna Bodhi. When one is single-pointedly focused on a tree, the mind that is empty of all elaborations, whether it is desire and hatred, etc., or loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment, etc., that is also the single-pointedness of the four yogas. The empty mind of Acharya Aryadeva is also that. The three minds of death are also that. After that, clear light arises. Realizing that is vipassana. When the two are inseparable and become one taste in vipassana, that is vipassana with excellent calm abiding. That is not the yoga of one taste. In general, if we are enveloped by death, none of us know whether tomorrow or death will come first. From the perspective of either human dharma or divine dharma, there is no case of remaining without dying. Therefore, this world

Cutting off all elaborations, practice the samadhi of calm abiding and insight, and thereby attain unsurpassable enlightenment. Therefore, please strive in this practice, for it is the Dharma. Furthermore, the venerable Guru said: This ocean of suffering in samsara arises from clinging to the self. Liberation from sorrow and the three enlightenments arise from the absence of clinging to the self. Moreover, when clinging to the self is not abandoned, attachment arises towards those who are kind to oneself, hatred arises towards those who are hostile to oneself, and ignorance arises towards those who are neutral. With the mind of these three poisons, one manifestly accumulates karma through the actions of body, speech, and mind, thus causing the ocean of suffering in samsara, including the three lower realms, to arise from this. Thus it is said: If there is a self, then one knows others. From the division of self and others arise attachment and hatred. From the connection of these two, all faults arise. What is meant is that one grasps this collection of decaying aggregates as the self. Based on that, the grasping of self and others arises, and by grasping self and others, one revolves in this ocean of suffering in samsara. Nirvana and the three forms of enlightenment are the mind without clinging to self. If one cultivates it with the desire for the enlightenment of a Shravaka, one attains the enlightenment of a Shravaka. If one cultivates the mind without clinging to self with the desire for the enlightenment of a Pratyekabuddha, one attains the enlightenment of a Pratyekabuddha. If one cultivates the mind without clinging to self with the desire for unsurpassable enlightenment, one attains unsurpassable enlightenment. The essence of the three enlightenments is the same, being the mind without clinging to self. What is this mind without clinging to self like? It is one's own present mind, empty of clinging to self and clinging to 'mine'. For example, this sky is not something that has been created by all times. The sky of the past is also this sky. The sky of the future is also this sky. The sky of the present is also this sky. There is no change in the sky. Similarly, the sky of the nature of mind is also the sky of the nature of mind of the past, future, and present. Therefore, Realizing the Body of the Nature of Mind, Spontaneously Accomplished and Uncreated, Transcending the Realm of Speech, Thought, Knowledge, and Expression, I prostrate to the Precious One.
