It arises just like that. This is called dependent origination. That is, it shows that the result does not change from how the cause went. The four fundamental seals of the World Protector are also: the cause and effect of virtue and non-virtue, happiness arises from virtue, and suffering arises from non-virtue, and it is instructed to be firmly believed that it does not change from that. This is the tenet of the World Protector, so whether it is comfortable or uncomfortable, hold it. Even if it is uncomfortable, do not think that it is uncomfortable for me, because it is the tenet of the Lama, so you must hold it. By holding these two in this way, you will understand what you have not understood, realize what you have not realized, obtain what you have not obtained, and understand on top of what you have not manifested. Thus, cause and effect also arise as cause and effect from being free from the eight extremes of dependent origination. Cause and effect itself is also not different from being free from the eight extremes of dependent origination. Therefore, please keep that in mind, that is the Dharma. Furthermore, the precious Lama said: When you understand what causes the suffering ocean of the three realms of samsara, which has countless faults, you are skilled in abandoning it. The cause of samsara is only affliction and attachment. There are two types of attachment: attachment to external objects and attachment to internal sentient beings. Attachment to objects is attachment to the seven treasures of the wheel-turning king, etc., and even if it is as small as a needle and thread, there is attachment to it. Between these two, there are various kinds of attachments. Therefore, attachment to external objects must be abandoned, because the previous Tathagatas also abandoned it. So, what kind of example is that? The Bhagavan took birth as the son of Śuddhodana. When he became a Bodhisattva in his last existence, he saw that attachment to external objects must be abandoned, so he abandoned it. To abandon attachment to external objects, you cannot abandon it without abandoning the object, so you must abandon the object. When the venerable Mahākāśyapa was living as a wealthy householder, he had wealth that competed with Vaiśravaṇa, but he also abandoned it, carrying only a single cloth and a small bag of cooked rice, and went to the Tathagata in Rājagṛha.

He went before the stupa of Bumaṅ. Having vowed to be a teacher, he took the full ordination and became Kāśyapa. Furthermore, if one does not know contentment with possessions and does not give them away, then one is poor. If that poor person hears that they have found a precious jewel because of their poverty, they say to give it to someone poorer than you. If wandering beggars take something, it is like saying to give it to King Gsalgyal, who is poorer than you and insatiable in his desires. Therefore, one must also give away possessions, be content with desires, and not be attached. To abandon attachment, one must abandon the object of attachment. The mind without attachment is the Great Seal (Mahāmudrā). One should not give things away to just anyone they please. There is no need to give things away randomly. One should not be like giving a small mantra to a powerful person as a reward. It would be good to meet a venerable guru, but it is not appropriate to give in that way. One should distinguish with the mind of bodhicitta and give towards a pure field. In general, the field is the Three Jewels field: the qualities of the Buddha are inconceivable, the holy Dharma is also inconceivable, and the noble Sangha is inconceivable. If one has faith in the inconceivable, then the ripening is also inconceivable. If one speaks of actions, the qualities of abandonment and ripening of the Buddha, the Bhagavan, are inconceivable. Similarly, the Dharma and the Sangha are inconceivable. By giving towards these, one obtains the same as the Three Jewels field. In particular, the pure field is even more excellent than the Three Jewels, that is, one's own guru is the pure field. Having completely abandoned all offerings, one should begin to make offerings to the guru. It is said that if the guru is pleased, then supreme wisdom will arise. Furthermore, at the beginning of all offerings, one should begin to make offerings to the guru. It is said that if the guru is pleased, then omniscience itself will be attained. Furthermore, offering to all the Buddhas of the three times is surpassed by offering a single hair of the guru. The merit of that is particularly excellent. Therefore, the guru is the pure field. One must give towards that pure field. If one thinks, 'My son needs these things, and other relatives also need them.'
