Regarding the arising stage and so on, the extent of the Yoga Tantras is seventy million kotis. Similarly, the number of Yogini Tantras is said to be sixty million kotis. Sutras other than the Mahayana are said to be eighty billion kotis. Likewise, the mode of the Perfection of Wisdom is five million and five hundred million. All of these were spoken by the Powerful Sage who possesses the three kayas. The places of discipline and so on were taught to those of the Hearer nature. The various explanations of the Sutras are those of the Bodhisattvas. If these are spoken, then they do not have many different meanings to be expressed. The meaning to be expressed is that the cycle of the three realms, the ocean of suffering, arises from causes and conditions, and there are two methods for abandoning it. As it is, the root of samsara is causes and conditions, therefore the wise do not create them. What is done arises from the causes and conditions of samsara. To abandon this, there are two ways: to abandon through realization and to abandon through force. To abandon through force is to hold the vow of not generating afflictions, not generating desire that has not arisen, and to hold the vow of abandoning arisen afflictions in an instant with an antidote. Similarly, anger and ignorance are also abandoned in that way, and a wise person who desires to attain perfect and complete enlightenment from the depths of their heart sees the three or five afflictions as virulent poisons. That is, this samsara is generated by the affliction of desire and tormented by anger, both of which are completely distinguished by ignorance, so it is understood that one wanders in this endless samsara. The antidote to serving the eight worldly dharmas or the five objects of desire is impermanence. For example, one does not want to place grass in front of a tiger, and if one does not want it even in a dream, then what need is there to mention serving it? Such a person who has a basis equally abides in the two types of Bodhicitta within. That is, the ultimate Bodhicitta is generated by following the ritual. The visualization that the Lama meditates on is meditated on as inseparable. Realizing the ultimate Bodhicitta is not possible. Conventional Bodhicitta is also meditated on as inseparable, Bodhicitta

That is the time to equally settle into both states completely. Like that, by equally settling into the samadhi itself internally, the mind is stabilized. The five senses do not follow the five objects, and are restrained like a dam. If you wonder what kind of example that is, it is like the Bhagavan, the protector Akshobhya, who made the aspiration not to generate even for a moment the thought of the three poisons. He took up the ascetic practice of having great power of antidote. For a person with great ascetic practice, there is nothing that cannot be done. For a person who is merely swayed by the three poisons, thinking that such a thing cannot be done is to hold onto afflictions. The Bhagavan Akshobhya, when he first generated the mind of enlightenment, although he was not liberated from the bonds of all afflictions, was able to do it. Having abandoned the five desirable qualities, with the great power of diligence, he equally settled into the two aspects of the mind of enlightenment, and by combining the devotion and reverence for the guru into one, he came to realize the essence of the ultimate mind of enlightenment. What is the essence? The essence: No form, no seer; no sound, no hearer; no smell, no smeller; no touch, no toucher; no mind, no mental events. It is said. At the time of realizing the essence of the mind, samsara is abandoned, and the path of nirvana is manifested. Even if the essence of the mind is realized in that way, still the formations are not realized, and various afflictions and discriminations arise completely, that is subsequent wisdom. To equally settle the essence of the mind in samadhi is freedom from elaboration. The subsequent wisdom of freedom from elaboration is to arise completely. Je Gampopa's teachings say that in the final moment of freedom from elaboration, subsequent wisdom arises completely; in the intermediate moment, it arises like an illusion; in the great moment of freedom from elaboration, subsequent wisdom is realized as unborn. Although there are such teachings, no matter what name is given, the subsequent wisdom of freedom from elaboration is considered to arise completely. By equally settling into that very samadhi of freedom from elaboration, and through the guru's devotion and reverence, that itself is enhanced, and thereby the afflictions and discriminations themselves are realized as Mahamudra. At this time, abandoning
