The great being said: In the Great Vehicle Secret Mantra, in order to realize the path through empowerment and to attain accomplishment, one must have an unbroken root samaya. If this is broken, one will not attain accomplishment and will become a preta in the next life. So what is the samaya? The samaya is the discipline of the secret mantra vidyadhara. Here, vidya is the deity's form, and holding it without the mind wandering is called vidyadhara. That is, in the generation stage, if one does not single-mindedly hold the vidya and allows thoughts to follow the five objects, all faults will arise. When the eye faculty looks outward at forms, it will generate the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance towards forms, thereby accumulating the karma to be born in the three lower realms. Due to the fault of the prana not staying within, it will lead to a short life and many diseases. Even if there is a little accumulation of merit from previous lives, it will be burned by the fire of outward-scattering consciousness, completely cut off like water in a dry riverbed, becoming like a great preta that cannot open its mouth, and all unfavorable circumstances will gather like water flowing into a depression. Similarly, when the ears, nose, tongue, body, mind, and pervasive prana scatter outward to objects, they will accumulate the karma of the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance as mentioned above, and all faults and harms will come. Therefore, the eye faculty should not follow objects, and should not have discriminating thoughts about objects, but should turn inward and hold the deity. In this way, the prana of the eye faculty, due to the power of turning inward, will become clear like an amalaka fruit. From the crown of the head to the lotus at the feet, contemplate the deity's body color, hand gestures, ornaments, attire, posture, and changes in the body's form, even the subtle whorls of hair, exactly as they are. In this way, one can transform into the Buddha's body, speech, and mind, and the power of samadhi will increase, thereby arising the divine eye clairvoyance, enabling one to see the splendor and qualities of the Buddha-fields of the ten directions, such as Sukhavati, and the sangha of monks such as Amitabha and Akshobhya. For example, it is as clear as an amalaka fruit placed in the palm of a person with eyes. Similarly, the ears can hear the Buddhas teaching the Dharma, understand the languages of sentient beings, and the nose can

One can sense smells, the tongue can taste flavors, the body can perceive touch, and the mind can understand the thoughts of others, and so on. All of this occurs because the five senses do not follow external objects but instead turn the wind inward, thereby increasing the power of samadhi. If there is no power of wind in the practice of samadhi, it is said to be like flowers and the like not growing on dry ground. When the power of wind increases luxuriantly within, the wind and mind become similar. Through the power of single-pointedness, one attains the five kinds of clairvoyance and gains stability in the generation stage. There is no need to separately meditate on the completion stage, because realizing the generation stage itself as the Great Seal, without acceptance or rejection, is called the 'tip of time.' The generation stage is the deity, the deity itself is emptiness, and emptiness is the deity. Gaining stability in emptiness is gaining stability in the body of the Buddha. Gaining stability in speech and mind leads to becoming a Buddha who has abandoned the three obscurations. If one does not understand this way and only meditates on superficial deities, one will not be superior to ordinary beings in samsara. For example, it is like offering a torma to Vajrabhairava. Formerly, when Lord Atisha was staying in Nyetang (around 1042), he went for a walk with an attendant. He looked at the sky and spoke many words in Sanskrit, saying, 'Do not be afraid! Aji ji! Aji ji! Bring a red torma!' When asked what was happening, he said, 'This is a yogi from Nalanda who was skilled in oral instructions and had gained stability in the face of the Blessed Mahī, but he used a basketful of sesame residue without informing the Sangha. As a result of this karmic ripening, he was born as the great preta Vajrabhairava. He wants a torma. This one will ruin Tibet, so he has been driven away.' Therefore, it is very important not to let the senses chase after external objects, but to keep the wind and mind focused on samadhi. Thus, the basis of all the qualities of secret mantra is the generation stage, and the eight great siddhis and the four activities arise without obstruction. Just by saying, 'May all inharmonious factors be pacified,' they are pacified; just by saying, 'May all life and merit increase,' they increase; just by being able to control all beings such as gods and humans
