Because the realm of position and affairs is the same, it is common, so kings and others should not be proud of common things, because it is not their own, just like the performances of artists and others. Before this kalpa, many kings were respected, because in order to protect the fields, they gave one strong man one-sixth of the grain as a reward, hiring him, so it shows that he is a slave of the people, which is called 'slave of the people', 'hiring' is 'being hired'. Regarding the pride of a slave, whatever is done or wherever it is done, it is controlled by ministers and subjects, so one should not be proud and say that everything depends on me. Just as a hired servant receives a reward and thinks that the master who gives the reward is a giver, and does not feel proud himself, the king should also not have the arrogance of 'I am the giver' after giving alms, just as a merchant should not be proud when exchanging goods. Other wise men think that it is the root of suffering, but you think of it as happiness in reverse, you should understand. Kings are maintained by one-sixth of the reward, so add the word 'maintaining others', just like not liking dirty things. The king and the subjects protect each other, if the king feels proud that he is the protector, then he should also let the subjects get rid of the pride of being protected, which shows 'the world', like husband and wife or forest and lion. If the king is the master of all four castes, then the people of these four castes mostly do not live by their own professions, but do evil, so the king also gets one-sixth of it, so it shows that he can neither become a deva nor a human, this is 'all castes'. If all things are done under the urging of others, then it is considered foolish, the king is treated like a dog and a monkey by ministers and others, so it shows that there is no one more foolish than you, this is 'by others', plus 'controlled by others'. You are called a protector, and you should also add 'a person who transcends the law'. Even the father thinks that the law is sacred, or thinks that this is the king's rule, etc., but he himself will not become a fisherman and a butcher, etc. If the king has unprincipled and sinful behaviors, such as kings preaching doctrines that are not in accordance with the Dharma, etc., then he is an unprincipled person. The actions and words of kings are unprincipled, because they harm others. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To act, like an executioner, by inferring actions, and for the noble ones to directly see the manifestation of cause and effect, thereby establishing whether or not sinful actions have been exhausted and destroyed in his (the king's) continuum. 1-364 Preventing the notion that being hired to protect is Dharma, just as demonstrating the example of despising the actions of weapon makers and the like that are dependent, just as the noble ones despise and abandon attachment and desire for the three realms (Tibetan: སྲིད་པ་གསུམ་, referring to the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm). Not doing foolish things is because wise ones like the noble ones would renounce kingship, and compassion is a characteristic of the wise. Preventing people from claiming that some of the king's laws originate from the treatises of hermits, therefore being Dharma, just as there are three hermits who claim that harm is Dharma, doubt whether it is Dharma, and think that it is not Dharma. 'The former' refers to stories like the teacher's previous incarnations as kings, the Dharma of the age of strife is as empty as sin and monasteries inhabited by animals. When the situation calls for it, attacking the enemy also applies to thieves and the like, which indicates 'opportunity'. The hermit widely proclaims the evil laws of the king, especially in the excellent praise: 'Angrily killing on the battlefield will lead to rebirth in a good realm, the proclaimer says. Protector, your mind at that time is an evil realm.' 1-365 This shows that the king hopes to ascend to heaven through pleasing. What prevents this is that offerings indulging in drinking, gambling, and women, etc., are not Dharma, so how can sacrificing life on the battlefield be Dharma? Because it is an action motivated by hatred. Wanting to be your protector, do something that follows your protector, do not abandon yourself, not following you, which wise person would like you? Because you yourself have no protector and are filled with fear. After the king dies, because of the bad reputation, the merit of happiness will not arise, so what is the difference between him without merit and the reputation of eating dog meat without limit? He will also do that. The king is made by merit, if he has merit, then this being will not become a king, it is impossible, just like a commoner becoming a king. Because the first kalpa were all born miraculously, so there was no distinction of caste. Later, because those who are hired to protect others are Kshatriyas, those who listen to their orders are Vaishyas, those who engage in asceticism are Brahmins, and those who engage in evil deeds are Shudras, which are named according to the means of livelihood. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
