Finished.

(Finished.) 1-354 Furthermore, if one gains control over the happiness of the mind, it is because happiness is fabricated by conceptualization, such as presuming happiness in having retinues and enjoyments. Therefore, mental happiness arises. If conceptualization is dominated by suffering, when suffering arises in body and mind, clinging to happiness destroys all conceptualizations. Hence, it is said 'because,' meaning 'there is nothing,' because there is no conceptualization that can prevent suffering, so conceptualization cannot dominate it. The passage of time refers to the process from childhood to old age, during which suffering increases with age. Therefore, happiness appears separate from the body, while suffering is established as the nature of the body, because change is constant. 'Other' refers to external thorns, etc., and the degree of suffering is determined by the amount of causes. Proving the degree of suffering by increasing or decreasing it refers to the continuous increase of suffering, like the suffering experienced by beings in the three lower realms, gods, and impoverished humans. To clarify this, the word 'condition' is used, meaning that if one excessively relies on happiness arising from conditions like warmth and coolness, it will turn into suffering; but excessively relying on the causes of suffering will not turn into happiness, like the fires of hell and the objects of suffering. 1-355 From birth to death, every moment experiences the changing of aging and dying, so there is no happiness, which is shown by 'you will die,' meaning 'going' and 'will go' are continuous. Sentient beings are easy to understand. Because each element does not have the power to create a body, the creation of a body requires the collection of all elements, just as it cannot exist without stickiness, it cannot form a lump without water, it cannot mature without fire, and it cannot grow without wind; these need to be appropriately combined until death. The nature and functions of the four elements are contradictory, so they harm each other, so there is no happiness, just as discordant beings cannot coexist. Because there are no conditions to constantly correct factors like heat and cold, it is constantly destroyed by cold, etc., which is related to engaging in activities and enjoying desires and working hard. Furthermore, in this life, one needs to protect oneself from sin and suffering, and if one does not protect oneself, there will be lower realms in the next life, so both are suffering. Vehicles, etc., refer to food, drink, and sleep, etc. First, there is no happiness when starting to do these things, and ultimately there is no increase in happiness, which is like the literal meaning, it is absolute, or rather, engaging in work itself is related to suffering. Finished. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is like transferring a burden. 1-356 All such things are like taking pleasure in vomiting into a golden vessel, mentally fabricating suffering as pleasure. If the act of transferring a burden from one's shoulder reverses the suffering that was previously produced, then it produces suffering on one shoulder. Even when that ceases, what happiness is there? There is none. Therefore, the capable one said that when the son of Katyayana is born, only suffering is produced; and when he dies, only suffering ceases. If someone thinks that even though individual beings have suffering, it is not seen as it is covered by happiness, then it is because it has been blocked by a powerful force and will be blocked. If there were only suffering, then teaching it would be meaningless, like the heat of fire. Child, you must be shown not to be attached to the heap of suffering, because even while abiding in suffering, you do not know it. Therefore, the Buddha said that ignorance is the ultimate end of all obscurations. 'Great,' this is the best of obscurations, because this is the obscuration of ignorance. All of these are summarized by showing that impermanence is pervaded by suffering, because impermanence necessarily harms, and the object is destroyed by it. 1-357 Therefore, it is shown that what has harm is pervaded by suffering. The Dharmakaya and Sambhogakaya do not have harm, so they are not suffering. The Nirmanakaya appears to have harm, so it has the suffering of harm, but there is no suffering of feeling. The thorn of the acacia tree, etc., is literal. In the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge (Abhidharmakosa), the monk Palalan of the Sautrantika school, who believes that there is no feeling of pleasure, is refuted, because this does not harm him, because it does not block his mind, desire, and beneficial feeling. Therefore, the teacher Chandrakirti's statement that he refuted this text is wrong. This is the explanation of the second chapter on showing the means of abandoning the perverted clinging to pleasure. This is the third chapter on showing the means of abandoning clinging to purity. In showing the means of abandoning the perverted clinging to purity, the word 'very' is used, because even if one relies on the object of desire for a long time, both the object of desire and the one desiring will be endless. Just as a bad doctor's long-term medical treatment is tiring and fruitless, so is the body that enjoys desire. As it is said: Moisture cannot be dried by moisture, heat cannot be diminished by heat. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
