Abandon attachment to impermanent worldly things and respect the noble Dharma. If five pleasing enjoyments can be obtained through virtue, then since these enjoyments were previously considered bad, abandoning these five enjoyments will bring auspiciousness and happiness. Since auspiciousness and happiness have been achieved, pursuing enjoyment is meaningless. If the king is supreme in the world, then his command (Tibetan: བཀའ་ལུང་), that is, the king, is meaningless. The law that enables the king to obtain power is also meaningless, and pursuing this law is the most foolish thing among beings. Seeing the result of good rebirth and being attached to its cause, seeing the end of bad rebirth but not fearing it, what is the meaning of his actions? Doing good for the sake of good rebirth is like working for a reward, so wise ones, understand it this way. A magical wheel (Tibetan: འཁྲུལ་འཁོར་) is a moving image made of thread, wood, etc. Those who do not understand the nature of the magical wheel and illusory images will be attached, but those who understand these two will not be attached. Those who see beings as magical wheels and illusions will become Buddhas. 1-386 For those Bodhisattvas who have innate actions, sorrows, and joys that are in accordance with the laws of samsara such as birth, old age, sickness, and death, these are unreasonable, because they will abandon all the laws of samsara. The above is a detailed explanation of the words. This is the explanation of the seventh chapter on explaining the means of abandoning attachment to enjoyment. Eighth Chapter: Methods for Taming Disciples When teaching disciples, how should one teach? Understand it this way: all the faults of samsara. To illustrate that the objects of attachment do not actually exist, it is said 'some people' (Tibetan: ལ་ལ་ཞེས་པ་). Ignorance is the inability to distinguish between good and bad, remaining in an intermediate state, and 'things' (Tibetan: དོན་) refers to the objects of attachment. If things were truly existent, then they should always appear consistently, but because not everyone sees the same thing in the same way, these are all imagined by the mind. If one does not apply proper attention, then the existence of afflictions is not self-existent, and even if there is a truly existent self-existence, who would think that it is produced by conceptual thoughts? If one observes the interdependence of things, one will find that self-nature is emptiness. The example of incorrect non-reasoned thinking is like a meditator mistakenly thinking that a skull is stuck on his head, and another person tells him: 'There is no skull on your head, throw it away,' thereby freeing him from the wrong idea. 1-387 If, for some people, the things, actions, and bonds that are attached are self-established, then they should not be separated, but because both are interdependent, they have no own entity. Otherwise, one cannot see the bondage and liberation of self-existence, because they are also interdependent. For this Dharma without self-nature, accumulate merit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If doubts arise by labeling something as 'small ground', then the examples should be those who have eliminated decline. Regarding the laws of samsara (cyclic existence), there is both increase and decrease, but nirvana (liberation) has only increase and no decrease. To demonstrate this is the Dharma (teachings) of realization that sees emptiness of inherent existence, which is liberation, the state of the Buddha, and the wise are the Bodhisattvas. 'A blind person without a target' is said to be the meaning of this. To attain nirvana, it is not that one should meditate on the non-empty as empty, because one cannot attain it with wrong knowledge. To demonstrate this is 'I', and 'seeing' is 'meditation'. Nirvana is said to be attained through right view. Then, if it is sufficient to teach only the ultimate truth, what is the purpose of teaching samsara? From the sutras (discourses) that teach the world through ignorance and formations, it is said that one enters samsara. To show that there is no investigation by the nihilists with no cause, a single cause, and causes that are incompatible, samsara is taught. From the sutras that teach the ultimate truth, it is taught that dependent arising is unborn by nature and that it is emptiness of inherent existence. By realizing this, ignorance is exhausted and the cycle of existence is reversed. If it is emptiness, then both samsara and nirvana do not exist, so what is to be done? If all the actions of entering and reversing do not exist for you, will you not be destroyed? (fall into nihilism) If there is action and agent by inherent nature, then this Dharma of emptiness will not become the reverser of samsara, because inherent nature does not change. We believe that all internal and external own and other sides are without inherent nature, and if the opponent is attached to his own side and hates the other side, then he will not attain nirvana, because it is the pacification of the conduct of the two, and he has not pacified it. If there is no manifest formation from ignorance, it will become nirvana, and if there is action formation, it will also be born into existence, because he does not have the anxiety of doing action, so he attains it, and the other one does not attain it by doing action. Even if it is easy to obtain, those who are attached to samsara do not go there, because those who do not feel weary of this samsara do not respect and desire the peaceful nirvana, so they do not arise like being attached to their own home. Beings in the lower realms and so on are overwhelmed by suffering and do not know how to rejoice in death, so they do not attain the good state of samsara and nirvana. The method of pacifying suffering is that giving and morality pacify the suffering of the lower realms, and the emptiness that pacifies elaboration can pacify all the suffering of samsara, so meditate on it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
